The rot started with the Caicedo challenge in the box. He’s prone to stupid fouls as good as he is. Let them back in and considering we had Acheampong, Hato and Gusto as three of the back four, it was a disaster waiting to happen. That’s on Rosenior really considering he had more experienced options on the bench. No need to expose them like that.

Threw it away really against a very poor Leeds side. Might be very costly dropped points come the end of the season.

Haven’t read through thread yet. On way home from game. Poor game management after we went 2-0 up could see before their pen that we had dropped off in pace and sitting deeper.

Mistake by Josh, but to take him off wasted a sub and Gusto etc would have had a season of half games if that rule applied to the rest of the defence!

Got to learn quickly. Leeds sat deep and apart from Palmer howler we didn’t test their keeper for 25mins

Wish they would make their minds up. TNT and the stream I was watching said they were told by our team that Cucurella's sub wasn't injury related. Hard to keep up at times.

I still think there was a chance this was pushed down by SD's to manage minutes.

Played some really good stuff at times but that slack 10 minutes cost us big time.

It feels like a defeat but it just highlights we are short of experience or real quality in defence.

We have to beat Burnley and then somehow make it to 70 points to secure a top 5 place.

Alight, I am a little bit calmer now.

We should be talking right now about some really good team play. Clever, quick, incisive passes. Andrey Santos adding to our midfield steel.

We should be talking about getting to see Palmer improving, and linking up with Joao Pedro and Estevao, a tastey trio of great potential.

We should be talking about how we dominated Leeds, got our win back on them from last year and, even though some of us wanted a thrashing of them, a 2-0 will do.

I should be coming on here giving Rosenior and the players the flowers I spoke of in his thread for a league win against a tough opponent in a grudge match. I should be chuckling and saying "oh well" at Palmer missing that chance for 3-0.

But we are not and I can't.

Instead all those laughs we had at the fools in the Wolves defense, and the Leeds defender today, go right on to Moises Caicedo because are you that thick Moises? Just like those 3 pens were needless so was that. What was the Leeds attacker going to do? We had defenders around why make that challenged.

What was that defending on their second? Is a huge feeling of Deja Vu for Sunderlands winner at the bridge, the sheer level of incompetence. I have so much belief in Josh Acheampong but I cannot defend what he did there.

And I am still in disbelief how Palmer missed that chance. There must be an angle showing a unlucky bounce up from the ground or something as the only other explanation is he failed to show the proper concentration and half a$$Ed it.

Unbelievable. We had that in the bag and forced them at gunpoint to take a point back.

Their second goal is some of the worst defending you will ever see

First mistake. Chalobah, at 26 years old, doesn't know how to deal with this. A simple header away, but he can't work it out.

Screenshot 2026-02-10 234223.png

2nd mistake. Caicedo, not strong enough in the tackle, losses out to the Leeds attacker who is surrounded by 4 Chelsea players

Screenshot 2026-02-10 234257.png

3rd mistake. Acheampong literally just needs to clear this for a throw. Somehow he fails to do that, panics and slips.

Screenshot 2026-02-10 234320.png

4th mistake. Gusto decides to just pass it to the Leeds player for a tap in 😐

Screenshot 2026-02-10 234357.png

They should feel embarrassed by this.

Hard to fathom how a professional team could turn in a second half display like that. I’ve seen more coherent defensive play from kids in a school playground. Unacceptable really. As for Palmer’s inexplicable miss at the end, I’m still not sure how he did it. It just looked easier to score than to blast it over the bar.

I just hope to wipe that game from my memory. Pretend it never happened.

It’s like all four played down the the previous mistake.

This one's going to be with me for a while.

I have 0 trust in the team after this diabolical display.

well shown and described Scott. I don't think I have seen us give away a goal through sheer stupidity in defense as bad as this in my 30 plus years of watching us.

Really was dreadful. But I would also include Sanchez. Think him coming out when there were already 4 defenders there just added to the confusion and just perhaps stopped one of them hoofing it into the stands.

Again, playing way too pedestrian, too casual, leads to dropping points. This wouldn’t happen under a proper coach, or at least it wouldn’t happen every week as we’re seeing under BlueCo et al.

What? What do you mean under a proper coach? LR coached a 4-0 win last night and was let down by individual errors.

I'd love to hear your explanation about how a proper coach stops Caicedo jumping through the back of someone in the box.

Yeah, right.

Careful now, people will start calling you a nutjob for suggesting that 😐

You were called a nutjob for suggesting they'd left James out of the squad for a cup semi final and were pretending he was injured.

Cucu was definitely a medical department rest.

Yes, which is why I told him to be careful suggesting it. Imagine calling somebody a nutjob over nothing. Questioning everything under this ownership is hardly nutty when they have proven time and time again that nothing they do should be trusted. Now they have removed Paul Green from the very successful women's team, you'll probably pretend there is nothing wrong with that either. Maybe it's us that should be calling you people nutjobs for blindly trusting everything under this clownshow of an ownership.

I mean TBF I didn't think you were a nut job just that you'd been seeing everything and anything that was probably rational under a lens of conspiracy.

I think this ownership is taking us back to being a cup team club. I just don't think they'd force Rosenior to not play Reece James in a semi final.

Almost nothing happening at the club is rational though, so it's hard to look at it in any other way. I jumped the gun on James, but there was logic to my reasoning. It's not like I pulled it out of my ass. We know there are outside influences when it comes to squad selections and substitutions, it was one of the main reasons why Maresca quit. Maresca used to feed us bullsh*t all of the time, he was a master at it until even he got sick of it. I'm not going into this under the lens of conspiracy, most of it isn't a conspiracy theory at all, it's just stuff that is happening.

Me! Thankfully, Sky Sports didn't get to run with it after Frank's sacking from Spurs.

We played some great football only to be let down by two massive brain fart moments. I'd bring Sarr in asap as a CB, as has been said before we shouldn't have Josh, Hato and Gusto as 3 of our back 4.

That's just asking for trouble!.

Me a bit.

We were robbed - Bogle hung is leg out to make it look like Caicedo tripped him for the penalty and they hand balled it in the area for their second...
