Delap still running around flattening folk for no reason. Strange man

This season we will be able to enjoy Delap flattening them and Jackson falling over them.

We are blessed indeed.

Now you're doubling down. If you'll pardon the expression.

Doubling Down starring Nicoll Jizuli. A 1990's classic. A VHS copy of which can be found hidden at the back of many a discerning gentlemen's sock draw.

Starting line up was a mix of youth team and reserves, not a starter among them. Guess that explains how we let in 4.

Only 4 of the 11 in the starting line up played in the first team last season.

Impressed with Watson, didn't realise he is only 16.

I thought he was clearly a level or so below some of the others.

Disappointed to hear Josh was poor.

Perfect opportunity to impress Alonso and cement that 3rd-choice CB option.

No one was running the defensive show. WSW were very aggressive given the opportunity which they were too often. Defenders left looking at each other.

You mean Tosin, who the club praises for his seniority and maturity, couldn't organize a defence against the last-placed club in the Australian League?

Well, I never....

Privileged to say that I flew down from Brisbane to watch this game - the first CFC game I've gotten to see in the flesh (I couldn't attend in 2015 for personal reasons).

Glad it ended in a win, although our defence played like they'd only just met. Acheampong looks like he might need a loan TBH - he lost his man at the post for WSW's first goal, and contributed to the second goal by getting beaten, though being partnered with Tosin, who showed why he's not been a consistent first-team.starter since his signing, admittedly didn't help. Good thing Colwill is back and Lacroix is coming, because Fofana IMO didn't have his best game.

Delap ran around aimlessly, Gittens looked sharp, Palmer/Palestra constantly made things happen, and Joao Pedro's finishing was exemplary. Robert Sanchez's game encapsulated the man - decent shot-stopping, inconsistent judgement and unreliable passing from the back. Wonder how much pressure Penders can put on him.

The Aussie-born MNJ was promising - made those driving runs from midfield like RLC used to. Kellyman was good value for his 16 minutes, and Essugo & Satpaev took their goals well. Watson and Anselmino gave a decent account of themselves, though I wouldn't mind shoring up LB.

The vertical passing forward was refreshing, after watching our players strangle their own attacks with predictable side passing for too long.

I can see why Alonso started conservatively - he probably didn't want to risk injuries to our first XI players on a dodgy pitch. And things worked out anyway.

If we can beat Crotchenham (I won't be attending that game), that'll represent a good start to our pre-season.

COYB! And I hope to see Chelsea in AUS sometime soon!

Watched brief highlights on the club site, some good goals, but some wtf defending from us ! Liked the first goal from the youngster.

What was the game like overall??

A basketball game.
