I went for Hilario. Every touch he made was spot on, he was very concentrated and saved us in a few important moments. A close second for Drogba, who was, as usual, immense against the Dippers.

Essien for me. Gerrard was once again completely anonymous, and Essien ran the show.

Hilario was immense as well. Didn't put a foot wrong.

Anelka for me. Like I said in the match thread, Drogs, Anelka, Essien, Carvalho and JT were immense, and to add to that Hilario was class too, but for me Anelka was making the defenders panic, I don't think I've seen him run so much for us before, and he really is absolutely lightning. Brilliant goal too, awesome assist from Drogba.

Can we have 2 votes?

There was a few players who had a great game but I'll go with Hilario. Most of us was a bit worried to be without Cech for this big game, but Hilario stepped up and looked like a top class keeper. Some nice saves and totally secure in the air. Good timing and nice decisions. So he'll get my vote.

Had to be Essien. As at Anfield last year sacrificed himself to keep Gerrard quiet....top notch

Drogba despite making a meal of a few minor digs he put Torres firmly in his place..

Hilario was superb and a very able stand in for Peta, thought JT and Riccy looked solid and Ashley again looked very good.

Essien for me, but to be honest... terry who got almost every cross, drog and anelka storming the scouser's def and hilario saving our asses... all these were the MOM.

With apologies to Hilario, who looked awesome, I have to go with Drogba. Goals win games and he created both of them. No amount of marking by Essien or saves by Hilario is going to get us anything other than a draw if it isn't for Drogba teeing up Anelka and Malouda.

Essien, he was absolutely everywhere, got a bit worried when he got that yellow but wow he was good today. The whole team played well, was a bit worried about branislav but he stepped up as well.

Didier for me, with mentions to Hilario, Essien, Nico and JT.

Got to say, Hilario getting MOTM is a bit misleading, as it implies we were jammy to get all three points, and we weren't, but he did play well when needed and it is great to have a Big Pete replacement that is so assured. Nice bloke too.

Oh I am going to enjoy my Sunday now....and Monday, Tuesday and beyond.

Bye bye title Dippers. Good f*cking riddance.

In fairness there probably needs to be an all of the above option today, there was not one player today who didn't beat out their Liverpool opponent. Drogba, Hilario even Deco I thought were great.

Even though Drogba set up the goals, I've got to go with JT. He was immense today, showed just why he is the best centre back in the world. Kept Torres quiet and led absolutley superbly. Loved in the 2nd half when we were under a bit of pressure, and he practically shoved two of our players out of the way to put the header in to clear.

ashley cole, nah not really im just used to picking him lately. picked DD as he set up both goals superbly but it was close between him, essien and hillario who were all superb. also lampard, he played a very disciplined roll which must be difficult for him to stay away from his normal game.

Essien. He was everywhere today and Gerrard will probably fall asleep tonight and still be able to hear Essien's boots in his room.

I thought Hilario did very well given the pressure he was under. I am not so sure about Terry getting it. He did play well on an individual basis but I thought we lookd disorganised at the back on a few too many occasions and responsibility for that had to lie with JT today gven that Cech was out.

Drogba obviously a major candidate as well but I am one that does find his rolling around irrtating and that goes against him in my eyes.

I am tempted to give my MOTM to Benitez for playing Lucas and Riera whilst dtopping Benayoun to the bench - what a prize cretin!!

Its not often you can say it but it couldve been any of them. Seriously.

Despite setting up two i actually dont think Drogba had the best match, he seemed to give the ball away a lot at times. But it speaks volumes that he still made them sh*t their pants every time and got 2 assists! He truly is a beast.

Special mentions for Ivanovic and Hillario but ive gone for Anelka - he looked sharp and focused from the first minute. A great player and we are lucky to have him. That goal was a lot harder than it looked too.

This has been the most difficult pick this season, usually it's been A cole but Kuyt did I fairly good job on him.

Betwwen Drogs, Hilario, Essien, Terry and went for JT.

Speacial word for Ivanovic who I thought has been weak this season. Best performance since Scum game last year.

I went for Ivanovic, his poor midweek performance meant he had a lot of pressure on his shoulders and he played extremely well.
