July 30, 20232 yr Some big stories about us buying Valverde, oh wow if that happens, gives Madrid money for Mbappe, so maybe not that crazy.

Can't see it myself though. Think it's more money than the Caicedo deal and my take from Pochettino's recent comments is that he wants to get some PL experience in. Then again the moves today seem to contradict that.

Will be interesting to see how Pochettino wants his midfield, for all the world Enzo looks Ball playing holding Mid, so who plays more fwd, Maarsen looks half decent , or Santos… Edited July 30, 20232 yr by Ballack & Blu
July 31, 20232 yr Mathias Franca to Crystal Palace. We were strongly linked to him but dropped it because our interest was leaked? Or is it something to do with Olise? Edited July 31, 20232 yr by axman2526

We are being strongly linked with a move for Olise so maybe. We could do with more goals from midfield and Olise might provide that.

July 31, 20232 yr If we aren't going for Raya and he goes to Arsenal... would Ramsdale leave Arsenal as irritated at Arteta taking his top spot. No way you keep Ramsdale and Raya happy at Arsenal as both would want starting spot. Feel like if we don't go Raya and Sanchez isn't an option we explore Ramsdale.
July 31, 20232 yr Robert Sanchez to Chelsea? Ongoing negotiations with Brighton are going so well we are looking to sign more players from Brighton. 25 years of age - 6ft 6" - a tall keeper.
July 31, 20232 yr Worse than Kepa according to people who watch Brighton. So would be a very strange one. But our transfer policy is hard to comprehend at times.

Very strange policy; Robert Sanchez has been available since Jan but no team has approached him. We sold Mendy & spent the summer trying to sign Onana & Maignan, walked away from both because of the fee. Utd now sign Onana for a very reasonable fee, as the season is about to start we are now trying to sign Sanchez even though we are struggling to sign Caicedo from Brighton. Arsenal are now trying to sign Raya who is a better goalie than Sanchez to provide competition for Ramsdale. Question is why couldn’t sign either Onana when we had the jump on Utd, or Raya when we walked away from Onana. Seems we are just going after the available goalie no one wants.
July 31, 20232 yr I'd rather put all my eggs in Kepa's basket than give Brighton any more money. And that's before you even consider that Sanchez is only a bang average keeper. If we do this transfer then it's Brighton 4 Chelsea 0 (Potter, Cucurella, Caicedo, Sanchez). Look elsewhere ffs LOL
July 31, 20232 yr Tbh I'm not arsed if the price is decent. Sanchez will be 2nd choice keeper with or without Kepa. It's essentially having a less expensive Kepa as a 2nd choice GK once he finally leaves. Kepa/Sanchez this season, analyze the situation next summer.

Looks a bit weak in comparison to the teams that we hope to be competing against. Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Brighton, Aston Villa, all look better in this department. In fact i would have Pickford over ours as well. If this is what we go with then it will come down to the strength and organisation of our defence. Neither of these two keepers are particularly good with their feet, i thought Sanchez was but having done some more research, nah. We did it before, we won the CL with a GK in goal that we subsequently bombed and then got rid of. Our defensive structure and organisation allowed Mendy to be in the posiiton where he wasn't unduly tested out of his zone and was allowed to command his area. But i thought that the intention was tro move towards a ball playing GK, hence the interest in Onana and Maignan. Looking at where the market currenmt,ly is and where the real elite keepers are in the world, Maignan to be is the one that is sticking ouyt and probasbly shoudl be who we go after. With the age of our defence and defensive midfield a commanding, elite level keeper that instils confidence and belief in all those around him is worth his price. I get those taht say GK is not the priority, btu trust me its more of a priority currently than countless more generationally talent right and left wingers or attacking mids. Don't get me wrogn i would like Kudus and/or Olise as well, but i would underestimate the value of an elite level keeper as well.

Do they need rid of him the same way that we need rid of Lukaku? If so, just offer to take him at their price as long as they accept ours for Caicedo 🤭

August 3, 20232 yr Newcastle have agreed a package of around £40m with Southampton for Tino Livramento, as @SkySportsLyall revealed. Chelsea have a big sell on clause based on profit made – anything above the £4m Saints paid. Chelsea entitled to over 40% of total profit/close to £15m.

August 3, 20232 yr Fair play to Marina for that sell on clause in the Livramento sale to Southampton..
