March 5, 201214 yr Some rumours coming from sources which I doubt the reliability of... it just worries me anyway. Capello will join us at the end of the season. He signed an agreement that he wouldn't be able to take a new job this season which is why we're having to wait to appoint him.
March 5, 201214 yr He signed an agreement that he wouldn't be able to take a new job this season which is why we're having to wait to appoint him. What... why... why would he have signed an agreement like that?
March 5, 201214 yr What... why... why would he have signed an agreement like that? Well seeing as they're paying him for the full length of his contract, I wouldn't expect it to be unusual for him to not be allowed to take up another position until that contract would have ended.
March 5, 201214 yr I honestly dont know who we should get, i dont think Pep will come, I dont think Jose would last long with us if he came back as the rumours of misunderstanding between him and RA would come out straight away, Capello is a winner but I dont know what kind of long term commitment he would bring, Redknapp is getting the England job, Benitez would not be accepted by the fans, Christ even Hoddle has been mentioned!!! I hope whoever it is is named as soon as the season ends and is already advising on which sort of players we want so that we might get them early and have the whole pre season with them, to add a spanner to the works the EUROs are on and not many players want to decide on clubs until the tournament is over....
March 5, 201214 yr Please God NOT, Capello, Sven, Redknapp, Benitez etc For me it's Guardiola or Louis Van Gaal
March 5, 201214 yr Joachim Löw had met Roman Abramovich in Geneva. http://www.tdg.ch/sp.../story/15033367 Translation by Google The German coach had met Roman Abramovich in Geneva. Having sacked Andre Villas-Boas, his coach, yesterday morning, Chelsea is already looking for his future manager. Thus the owner of English club, Roman Abramovich, had met this morning Joachim Löw, coach of Germany today, a large hotel in Geneva. No doubt the Russian boss thinks he enlisted in the German to take over at the "Blues" from the late summer. Recall that the contract Loew at the head of the Mannschaft runs until the end of Euro 2012. Until then, Chelsea could be in the hands of Roberto Di Matteo, the former Italian international was born in Switzerland, which was previously the assistant of André Villas-Boas. March 5, 201214 yr Whoa... Whoa... Seriously? Löw? I wonder how much of this is just more media garbage but if true... Löw could be an excellent good manager for the club IF given some time. He was the tactician behind Klinsmann's teams and would certainly get the best of our players. The question is whether or not Löw can translate country success into club success. I, for one, believe he can. Wow... Please let this have some legs.
March 5, 201214 yr Sven? Oh god, please tell me he hasnt said he wants it. Unfortunately he has :( As for Joachim Löw, how is he any different to AVB?
March 5, 201214 yr Unfortunately he has :( As for Joachim Löw, how is he any different to AVB? His tactics, at least on the club level, are usually spot on. I'd say he's more of a tactician than AVB is. Plus, he's (imho) a better man manager. Germany do have some of the biggest names in football. They all listen and respond to Löw. Germany will never be out hustled for first and second balls like we saw from our match against WBA. Germany has been defeated, but they always play hard. I believe he'd be able to replicate that here.
March 5, 201214 yr Does Low speak English? We don't need to contend with that potential issue. I watched an interview of his at the last world cup. He knew a little but was definitely not fluent.
March 5, 201214 yr +1 to everything Arq just said, but personally I can't see him coming here... I guess the one thing that'd work in our favour is as an ambitious manager it must be quite depressing having to wait around so long between games, especially meaningful ones.

Yeah, I wouldn't see him coming here either. He's got a sweet setup with Germany and a squad that could be a powerhouse for the next 8+ years. However, if he had an itch, I'd love to see him come here.
March 6, 201214 yr Cole's been a favorite of mine for the last couple of seasons and is a club legend IMO. That being said, his performances have dropped off this year, and it's probably only a matter of time until he's back on the front page of the tabloids. I wouldn't be opposed to this "deal". However, if we do sell him for 10m, we'll probably buy a LB for 30m and let Bertrand go on a free.
