surely this means the end for martial?

would love to have martial here, think he could do the job at the second striker position

Perisic would be a quality signing imo, would prefer him to Martial tbh (though I'm not sure if he'd fit into Conte's 3-4-3). Would hope we steer well clear of Martial to be honest. I could see him doing well in flashes at left inside forward (like Pedro does at right inside forward), but think his inability to adapt to different tactical conditions and still influence a game makes him a limited player (at least not worth 30m+ anyway)

Could be a cracking signing. And he's available for just 20m. Love the way he glides across the pitch effortlessly.

Can't help but think Tammy could do a similar job but I fancy this lad. Spurs and Arsenal are interested apparently, but if we don't get him, I hope Everton do. He'd be a great investment.

Juve have signed him apparently. At least they kept him away from Spurs.

Hopefully deals like this turn out like alonso. We were quick and on the ball with that one, gave them what they wanted and signed the player. Conte seems to know his seria a players. If he wants him let's get it done fast.

Have they had Djilobodji and Michael Hector lined up summer before last? Those were our summer signings last time we finished season as champions, so the impatience and lack of trust in the club's dealings isn't surprising . Sounds like Levene is doing PR work for the club. The fans have every right to be underwhelmed by our recent transfer activity. Yes, Kante was a good pickup, but that's hardly stuff of legends. We've been chasing players we were unable to sign for two summers in a row now, so a big signing to make the supporters believe we're still a force in the transfer market will go a long way.

Walker + Tierney? :JC_doubleup:

Would Spurs sell to us however I'm not convinced. I think it's more likely Walker will join Bayern or United if City sign Fabinho.

How come rivals sell to f**king city and not us ???

Good point.

No reason to trust that the club have everything in order for this window. Even the summer window wasn't that great and we lost out on many of our main targets.

Reads like a sponsored PR statement by the club delivered by proxy.  Djilobdoji and Hector were all signed up during Easter 2015, ya sure.  All eyes are on the Board this summer and if they f**k up come Sep 1, they will deserve every piece of sh*te and brickbat hurled at them for letting Conte, the fans and the club down.

Why, because he has a different opinion to yours? My god our fans are unbelievable at times, so entitled, so quick to jump on perceived slights to their ridiculous expectations, we have people moaning about transfers and it's still f**king may.

Because it reads like what it is - a PR statement.  Now clam your tits about my expectations, not that it has anything to do with you.

Maybe it's just me but I can hardly remember you ever not taking the club's side in an argument. I do agree that fans can be fickle and impatient and at times project unrealistic expectations, but what was wrong with ichk's statement? I've got nothing against Levene but he's making claims without backing them up so it does look like PR exercise. Can he name or at least hint at who the club has had lined up? I bet he can't. So he just expects the fans to blindly believe the club has everything under control while the recent experience tells them otherwise.

Also, what does this mean? "Pre-window player announcements all about getting ticket sales, pleasing global TV audiences, etc. Not things Champions need to worry about. In short: Chelsea will already have deals lined-up. Both in and out. But it's not the club's style to do stuff like that in public. Chill." So City have to do it publicly, but we don't because we're champions? What a load of crap.

How on earth is any of what I said me taking the clubs side? Me saying our fans complaining about a lack of transfers in may? As for what levene wrote, he's correct in every way, it's club policy not to discuss transfers, it has been for years.

What other club discusses transfers publicly? I can't think of any. The whole argument with Levene on Twitter was caused by City signing Bernardo Silva and Chelsea fans getting a bit impatient and nervy about the club dragging their feet in a summer transfer window once again, and who can blame them? City don't conduct their business in public, they just announced that they'd signed a player, like any other club would.

He also made a point of mentioning signings of David Luiz and Alonso last summer as if it was some sort of coup, when it was obvious to everyone that we were chasing other targets all summer long and failing to land any went into a panic mode and sign those two on the last day. I'm happy they've done well this season, but no-one with a brain would believe it was all part of a great masterplan, we just got lucky.

Daily Mail reporting we've made tentative enquiries for Boateng as an alternative to VVD (though can see Boateng joining United if he leaves Bayern)

Bayern reportedly interested in Willian for £43m according to the Sun (would hope we'll only sell if we can sign Alexis or Bernardeschi)

Because it sounds as such to me. End of.  And what is so ridiculous about my expecting the club to sign Conte's targets and hopefully most of the business can be done before pre-season begins?  You are the one being jumpy here by getting upset about anonymous fans posting stuff that doesn't gel with that you think a Chelsea fan should behave as.

Is Bernadeschi any good?

When did I complain about a lack of transfers in May?
