Talksport: Chelsea are keen on Juventus right-back Dani Alves. The Brazilian has had a fine season with Juve and starred in both legs of their Champions League semi-final win over Monaco. Now Chelsea want to bring in Alves, 34, ahead of their return to Europe's premier competition.

Tbf i'd take either of Juve's wing backs at Chelsea. Both offer something different to what we currently have.

Daily Express are saying Chelsea want Modric, even at 31 he is still world class and would be perfect next to Kante.

Few rumours (Daily Star/Express) we're looking at Gijon's Jorge Mere (apparently has a £25m buyout clause). Looks a brighter prospect than Christensen imho. Buy Mere and sell Christensen to Juve/Barca (who may be looking for a replacement for Barzagli/Pique??) 

I don't know if we will give up on Christensen already, but if Jorge Mere is a a brighter prospect then the big Spanish clubs will probably be in for him

That would mean letting fab go, think CM is a big position we need to fill with a powerful expansive player

If he's a very good player but his YouTube highlights aren't then I think we should pass. What's the point in buying someone if he can't dab and rabona?

Everton have put price tags of £50m for Barkley & £80m for Lukaku, really hope teams take this into account when selling players to them

If Barkley is worth £50m to Everton with only 1 year left on his contract then maybe Swansea should demand 60-70m for Sigurdsson

The thing is they are even willing/ potentially looking to sell Barkley if that £50m figure is true I'd be shocked, he won't get in any of the top sides he'd even be on the bench for Spurs, so unless Palace or west ham want to spunk some money up the wall (which neither are a step up so why move), I very much doubt anyone will be looking to spend more than £15m

They should thank the stars if they get 30m for Barkley. Lad's only got 1 year on his contract, f**k off!

To be honest I think Barkley could shine at the right club he has the attributes, I'd take him over lukaku if we had to have one player from Everton, I'm not a lukaku fan at all, see his goal scoring abilities but he isn't the man to lead Chelsea by himself doesn't have the character, I'd pay 35 for Barkley and I think conte could turn him into a dangerous player, he is big and fast, could be a top impact sub, nice option for the front 3, I'd be very interested in that if we are even looking at him.

He certainly has flashes of brilliance yet I would not say he is fast.

Lukaku is more complete than Barkley. Barkley still has a lot to learn. He has his moments, but his decision making and controlling the game needs a lot of work still. I don't think he is ready for a big move yet.

Personally think Pochettino could do wonders with Barkley. 

What a summer it would be if we got VVD, Veratti and Aubameyang (the last is most unlikely IMO, so I'd take Morata who we've also been linked with) then you can get cover players for other positions as well.

I don't disagree just think conte could get something out of him he has potential to be very dangerous, difference is he wouldn't be a main man for us lukaku would and he doesn't have the character to lead our line to a title defence and CL campaign imo. 

Any word on Mahrez?  I know a couple of weeks ago he was caught on camera praising us.  

 

I see him as a decent 2nd tier option, if we can't get some of those top targets we're eyeing.

really to me he looks lazy and that wont sit well with Conte

It's being reported that we are after Davinson Sanchez from Ajax. Barca in for him too, so possibly our name being used to bump the price up a bit.

I like him a lot, don't get me wrong.  He would be a useful player to have - especially next season when everyone parks the bus against us.  However, it has to be for the right price.  The market has changed a lot, and if we want to be taken seriously in CL contention we have to go for premier names.  Mahrez has one solid season behind him, and then had a major downturn. 

Mahrez/Barkley - no thanks - Barkley has the grace of an elephant and Mahrez doesn't hold a candle to Willian.
