Started going in 1978 aged 9 and the older support were missing that generation of players. I think the following season (78/79) Ron Harris testimonial? Chelsea current team played the 1970 cup squad I think Peter Houseman (r i p) the only absentee. Watching from the shed I had seen Bonetti Harris Cooke Osgood (2nd time round) play for the 1st team but when they beat the current 1st team 1-0 it showed how poor we were in my first full season 78/79.

Winning the right to be promoted to Division 1 in the 1983-1984 season under John Neal.
