Kevin De Bruyne

Agree with this 100%. He was never given a fair chance and in my opinion is better than Schurrle

He did get chances. Not our fault he never took them. He then got kept out the team by bigger names with bigger price tags who wanted it and worked harder than him.

He was always going to be a very good player, but I think it was his attitude that let him down here, similar to Lukaku, thinking they were better than they were at the time.

I recall him (either him or someone associated with him) saying Jose said he would play him, which is the only reason why he came back instead of signing for Dortmund. Jose didn't play him so he, rightfully, left, not sure what attitude you are referring to.

If their was attitude, its probably in relation to the whole Courtois stealing his fiance/gf (not sure what she was to DeBruyne, just that Tibault allegedly did the dirty and swooped in on her while she was still with Kevin).  Could of been as simple as their couldnt be true harmony in the dressing room with them both in it (they never were, or am I mistaken?) and if it was an either or situation, despite knowing how good KdB is and can be, I say we kept the right player for what the team needs.

Of course.

No doubt, Barry Bridges.

It's only news, and mister Mourinho has kept the right player! See the results.

There's no problem between Thibaut and Kevin.

I was sad to see him go, but his best position is playing centrally and Oscar was playing better than anyone in the league there for the months before the KdB sale.

Wolfsburg is a club on the rise with big ambitions, and he's a key player in the squad. If he leaves, I think PSG have to be frontrunners as the only club offering a situation comparable to the one he's in.

Best midfielder in germany says a lot about the german league tbh. He is a good player no doubt, but he never seemed to handle the english league when called upon.

He only played about 4 games.

But if de bruyne was going to be anything, we would have seen glimpses during his run outs, the same with salah. You're talking about a player who has to have the quality to start for one of the top 4/5 teams in Europe on a regular basis, de bruyne would never have been that player unfortunately, especially not with the way we play.

Bloody Salah was given more opportunities than KDB and KDB is twice the player Salah is. I was disappointed KDB didn't get more chances last season, i thought he was going to be quality for us. I remember in pre season last year he was looking the part.

He got a nice assist on his debut and put in a decent performance, after that he was never given a run of games. He was played sporadically, never going to see the best out of a player when that happens.

I really liked the look of De bruyne, He never got too many opportunities and sadly I think he might have felt he somehow deserved chances more than our other gifted players and might not have been prepared to wait and fight it out.

I thought he was a really bright prospect in preseason and I think the game against Hull he played really well, I seem to remember him getting an elbow in the face from Van Persie against UTD and drifting out of the game a bit, maybe it was a bit too physical in the epl but I think he could certainly have done a good job for us.

That said we have good players who can't break into the team now and players that have had a few chances without showing too much who are being written off so it would have been a battle.

The BuLi isn't as physical as the EPL but we don't flop over like in Spain. I watched the BvB vs Wolfsburg game and he looked class. Granted it's only one game and BvB are a shell of their former selves but still deserves credit.

Was also a fan, Chippy. I once mentioned he reminded me of nedved which I think is top top praise. I think Jose rated him highly as well and said as much in pre-season. But at the end of the day i think the bottom line with Jose is you have to tear the shirt away from the competition and that's in the match and training. We have seen that if you perform and work hard you will get the shirt. Joe cole being the best evidence of that. going from criticism and sparing chances, to being "unplayable" in Jose's own words. But even more recently we could look at Dave ripping the shirt from Ashley cole and now keeping it away from another superb player.

The truth is I believe Jose looks at the player’s willingness to fight for the shirt, and fight hard. Because if you haven’t got it in you to fight for at least that, what are you going to be like when things aren’t going your way in a big game. Talent is all well and good while things are going your way, its guts and a raw desire to win that gets you out of trouble. (with a spark of genius) In the united game mentioned, a few things didn’t go KDB’s way and he shrunk, he did it against Swindon as well. If he had wanted to stay I’m sure he would have been aloud and given his chance. In the end it seems to have come down to the player just wanting to leave and himself probably believing he wasn’t getting a fair crack, much the same as Mata, which is a transfer that upset me far more then KDB

He never should have left us.

Damned.

Neither Thibaut nor Christian Benteke.

Or Divock Origi.

And Yannick Ferreira Carrasco!

The two brothers Boonen, at this moment.

Manchester United, goddamned.

It's not fair!

Makes you wonder what would have happened if we didn't go in for Willian just to step on Spurs toes.

Willian and KDB started on a equal platform, one proved him self to jose and one failed to do so

Something must have gone on behind the scenes. He always looked a really good player, I remember seeing him in the Belgian league when he was 18, he looked levels above everybody you could tell he was going to be a star. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he ends up at a top club eventually.

Probably the Courtois situation or maybe he didn't want to put the shifts in like Mourinho wanted him to. As Mourinho was making statements to players back then to be fair, you either work hard or you're out, kicking Mata out for starters, you must have balls to do that.

Correct.

Something must have gone on behind the scenes, Slawth.

Kevin works everywhere and always very hard!

And there's no Courtois situation or a Mourinho situation.

It's like in a good marriage.

Or a bad.

Things happens.
