Now,don't go nuts,it's not my fault, but I was asked by a wise old sage, if given the chance,no matter who or what contract/club they had just signed for.........If I could, would I swap Torres for ANY player in the world,(assuming a striker), or am i happy to keep him?.

Ok, admittedly,I was complaining at the time I think he's a tad mentally weak & that if he's our main striker next year then I think we're in trouble.

I might have implied that you know when a plane carrying the Chelsea team has landed, because you can still hear Nando whining after the engines have stopped..............but even so!.

Thing is though,if I'd answerd yes, then that mean's I'd be glad to swap him for another player and that in my opinion,he's not up to the challenge of leading Chelsea's front line.

If no,then obviously he's fit to be the main man.........it's a tough question?.

I know my answer...........but what's yours?.

Not a tough question at all, of course you would bloody swap him for the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, etc.

It's not a swipe at his ability to lead the Chelsea front line, it's just common sense.

I see you're point about Messi (not so much Ronaldo), but it's worth keeping in mind a couple of things.

Firstly, the speed in which we as a team move the ball forward, would stifle Messi. To such a degree,I think he would resort to picking the ball directly from cech himself.

Secondly,I know it's seen as a cliche, but if we played Messi as a lone striker upfront, many lesser PL teams would target him in a way that would reduce his playing career by at least 3 years in my opinion.

Harsh I know,but a Premier League reality I'm affraid.

Still would love to see him hear though!.

NA...Id stick with Nando....The reason being is that once we have the team in fine balance..When we learn to move forward quickly..Once we learn to fast pace balls into space in front of him.(and) once hes scored a couple to get his confidence, hes gonna be the best...REST ASSURED, ITLL ALL HAPPEN THIS SEASON

I am happy with Torres but if i had a chance to swap with anyone i would.

I would swap with Falcao . And if Villa was a few years younger i would take him as well , i have always said that Villa was the better striker then Torres. I was desperate to get him when he was at Valencia.

To say no would imply that Torres is the best striker now playing. I think most of us can admit that's not true.

Silva, Falcao, Zlatan,Aquero, C Ronaldo, RVP,Neymar

I would say yes. I like Torres and I think he's really trying hard to be the scorer we want him to be, but if I could swap him for Messi or someone like that I would not hesitate.

But ask me again in january and we'll see if I feel the same then. Maybe our new signings can change things.

I hope after this season you are blushing with shame.

Belive it or not,I'd love you to be proven correct.

A successfull Torres means a successfull Chelsea & inspite of anything, that's ALL that matters really. However, after watching football & the many different types of football players over the last 3 decades,I think i've learned to reconise a charlatan when i see one.

I wanted to see Torres sign for us,but that was the Nando of old & certainly not this new incarnation.

We'll just have to see how it works out, won't we?.

Bar someone unrealistic Messi , Ronaldo , I want to stick with Torres. I want him to have no excuse for not putting in a great shift for us this season. we have and are signing some serious ball players , he should be drooling at the thought of these lads providing chances a plenty. Its up to him to make the most of it.

we have given him unbelieveable support , now its time to stop with the face and give us our return.

I'd absolutely swap him for Messi, Ronaldo and Agüero. I'd probably swap him for Falcao. If we're not limiting our choices to strikers, I'd consider swapping him for a dynamite midfielder like Schweinsteiger, Khedira or Modric.

Players that I wouldn't swap him for include RVP (too injury prone), Zlatan (too much of a prick), Neymar (a little bitch who I'm skeptical can adapt to the Premiership) and Cavani (the only real advantage he has on Torres is that he's younger, I'm not a fan otherwise).

yeah rooney. there are better defenders than JT and better midfielders than Lamps but i would not swap them because the club actually means something to these guys. this is why i admire the drog because he has shown his loyalty and passion for the club for nearly a decade. unlike some plastic gooners! maybe el nido will turn out like drogba and i'm going to have a nice bet on him to be top hotshot!

Short of Cavani, or the obvious mega talents, there's no one i'd buy or swap Torres for. Cavani is the only exception because even at Torres' peak, he is still the inferior player.

Everyone else would come to Chelsea with the same price tag, expectation and likelihood of failure. No thanks.

I am going to stay with Nando! For me he is very hungry and with Mata, Hazard, and Oscar he is going to flourish! Golden Boot next season... That's right, you've hear it here first...

You and I think way too much alike (football wise at least). Must have been some mind-meld over the Euros.

If the choices were not limited to strikers, one of the tops on my list is Schweinsteiger. I think he's one of the best midfield players in the world, as well as one of the most versatile, and would be perfect to help drive our attack.

I'd also definitely swap Torres for Messi. We would find a way to fit Messi in and he's the type of player you change your formation for. He's that special. Ronaldo I'd also do a swap for even though he has that stigma that he disappears during the big matches. Ronaldo has so much talent that he can change a match in an instant. Agüero I'd possibly do a swap for.

And for the record, I hope Torres flourishes and shows us the form that we saw before his injury and his transfer. If he can be that lethal striker he used to be it's just going to help us move forward. He's on his way, he just needs to get there.

Are you a Vulcan, perchance?

Schweinsteiger's brilliant and what's more is that I have no doubt he'd adapt to the Premiership without trouble. It's a shame he wasn't healthy at the Euros. Then again, I can't complain too much since he was injured during the Champions League final as well.

As for Torres, I'd love to see him finally return to the form he displayed at Liverpool for us. I'd really rather not have a second Schevchenko. There have been some positive signs, but I'd have to imagine this is his last chance to prove himself here. There can be no question that there is more than sufficient talent surrounding him to enable him to play to his potential. If he doesn't, he's got nobody to blame but himself.

Would I swap a player ( or any player) for a better 1? Yes of course, and that applies for just about everyone in the team

I wouldn't swap Luiz for anyone, not even Thiago Silva or anyone else.

I was trying to add another CB or two, but just had no idea whom to add. Who do you consider the 5 best CB's at the moment?

What has changed from last 1,5 seasons with Torres: New manager, Drogba out, new very good creative players in that will help him and help Mata help him, fresh start, good feeling after CL and EC. Everything indicates Torres will have 20+ goals season and you'll be surprised how many assists he will get. So I say stick with him.

I can think of Kompany, Pique, Silva, Chileni.

Is any of them that much better than Luiz? I'm not sure.
