The Frank Lampard goal scoring record thread

Featured Replies

I've got a bad feeling he won't score another goal this season. I hope I'm wrong like I so often am with these things.

I'm assuming he will be involved in some way in at least 6 of our remaining, whether starting or coming on as a sub.

I think the record, whether he admits it or not, will be nagging at him so I expect a few speculative shots from distance from him.

I think he'll manage to get 2 goals from those games because he is Super Frank after all.

The fairytale version would be to break the record at home against Spurs, but you can't score goals if you can't get a game.

Get's the nod to start against Spurs and scores us a hat trick securing us 3rd place in the process.

I can live with that.

Dont worry about Frank he will get the goals he is class and for that there is no substitute AND if the special one comes back the first person he will try and sign is Frank Lampard .

It only just hit me today that the days of seeing the likes of Frank and JT on the pitch together have come to an end. As a young lad in my early 20s they've really been "my chelsea" generation in the same way the older users on here would probably view the players of the 60's and 70's, i've already had to say goodbye to the likes of Ballack, Anelka, Drogba and Caravlho but Frank and JT will definitely be the hardest to see go, it already feels weird not seeing the two of them out there week in week out.

Fully agree, it is not easy to watch. I still hold out hope that they will feature for another season at least, but it really is close to the end of a glorious era with these fine players.

Likewise, being 18 the first 'crop' of players I remember was the likes of Zola, Hasselbaink, Gronkjaer, etc. Terry and Lampard are the 2 players who have been a constant part of Chelsea ever since I really started devoutly following the club and its going to be weird once their gone. Makes me feel old already.

Yep, we will end up with a team of foreigners and no English players whatsoever. I suppose that is what happens when you have an owner who only wants the best players.   Unfortunately, the best players in the world doesn't include any English players.

I thought there was a quota of home grown players that was mandatory? Is that no longer so?

Like the end of an era.

"Homegrown" just refers to player being a part of the clubs academy for 4 or more years I believe, so I think Mikel for example is classed as "homegrown"

I think that players under 23 do not need to qualify as homegrown either, which would further explain our recent transfer policy.

I can't help feeling really sorry for SFL with the memories of his last season being this almighty shower of sh*te and a woeful manager who couldn't give a toss.

Not exactly going out on a high is it :(

I was thinking pretty much that during the game, Frank should have his Record in the bag and be ready to think about a wage cut for his one year extension.

i really can't see Frank getting these goals. The FSW is showing him no respect whatsoever . Frank is a player who needs to play every game to get his rhythm , playing every other game is not helping his cause.

It's an absloutely disgrace that Lampard is probably going to miss out on this record because that fat spanish piece of sh*t was given the job and is leaving him out all the time.

yep, agree ... i think the momentum for Frank has probably gone ...
