The Frank Lampard goal scoring record thread

Featured Replies

Lampard now tied with Robbie Fowler on 163, unreal..

Alan Shearer - 260

Andrew Cole - 187

Thierry Henry - 175

Robbie Fowler - 163

Frank Lampard - 163

Pretty impressive for a midfielder

Aye that is an amazing stat.

If we beat Spurs and therefore secure CL football, Benitez could actually endear himself to the fans by just sticking Lampard up front and saying that after years of having given so much to the team it is time they gave something back by doing whatever they can to help him get the 2 goals.

I don't think Lamps would score playing up front, he's best at making late runs into the box, not hanging around the penalty area as a target man.

Everyone seems to be getting excited about the potential return of Jose, understandably.  However, a lot of the stories I am reading say that Lamaprd will be given a 1 year contract extension as part of Jose returning.  Some are even saying that he's getting the 1 year extension regardless.  So if we are so willing to buy into the press stories about Jose returning, why are we all so sure that Frank is as good as gone?

Agreed, I've always thought what made him so difficult time mark was his timing of his runs that ruined defenders as no one picked him up. If he played striker he would be marked.

IF Frank is gone in the summer i dont think he will break the record. With that fat waste of space in charge and not giving Frank the game time i just cant see him getting another two goals this season.

Will score a brace on Saturday against Villa.

You heard it here first.

(I hope).

If he doesn't he better get an extension to his contract then so he'll have opportunities to beat the record....that fat twat seems determined not to let him.................pet rat on instead of lamps last night.....has the pet rat ever scored?

Scored an absolute stunner against Wycombe in a friendly a few years back.

Now I want lampard to stay, I would love to see him stay for next next. But does anyone else think it just won't be as exciting to see him have a full season to beat the record rather than a couple of games? If he scores in his last game for us it would would be legendary, an incredible story. not sure if I've got over exactly what I mean.

With a full season he can aim to overtake the 3rd position on the all time PL top scorers list from Henry. Just 13 more. Two more season and Andy Cole is in sight, 25 more needed for that. I hope Rooney goes abroad and won't get the chance to reach Lamps.

Luca thinks Lampard should leave at the end of the season:

"In my opinion it's probably the right time for them to say goodbye to each other and leave on good terms."

"Frank has a fantastic opportunity to try something new, perhaps in Los Angeles or somewhere else in America, have fun for the next three or four years and make some money."

"Then one day he could perhaps come back to Chelsea as a hero. I really hope he scores a few more goals to become their top-scorer in the history of the club."

whos luca? vialli?

Vialli,

and I have to agree with him.  Couple more games and Frank is our top scorer, leaves on a high and takes off for pastures new.  If he can do that I think it's best for all concerned
