as previously mentioned in posts, moving him on may possibly become the next big hurdle?

Imagine being stuck with Torres for the duration of his Contract and this continuing situation (impacting both Team & Manager(s) & us, the fans) continuing for years to come? ... It's truly unbearable ... surely somethings gotta' give by latest season end, hasn't it?

I'd rather choke on my own vomit than see Fernando back at the dippers. And I don't trust any newspaper in this country to be honest, why would anyone want to go back to the club that essentially ruined his career by always rushing him back from injury, witholding medical information. If Fernando goes to Atletico, the club he has stated he wants to end his career at, I would be delighted, as it currently is, I say keep him till the end of the season, try and offer him, money and financial incentives to Atletico in return for Falcao, it would be the best for both parties.

If we couldnt sell him then i think he would be loaned out for the next few years like Veron, Crespo and Sheva all were.

Maybe we might get lucky and include him in a deal for another player at some point. I get the feeling that Torres doesnt want to be here either so maybe he wont kick up too much of a fuss in the summer.

I think he knows that he has to leave, I can only see him kicking up a fuss if we try to ship him to the back of beyond!

I personally think Torres knows his time is up, and is just waiting either for the club or his agents to find him a move away. There's nothing left for him at Chelsea, he's done with us, we're done with him.

Hope he moves on soon and we can amend this mess we've been left with for playing him for so long.

I think he'd happily leave, but who's going to pay his wages? He has 3 years left in his contract.

He's damaged goods now, with his confidence shot and the doubts about the real level he might achieve in the future.

At this point I think the most realistic outlook is trying to get some sort of performance for him even if he's not playing in his position (which is what AVB tried) although this will mean fewer goals and even more and more pressure on him.

Send the sulky c**t to Anzhi, they will pay him, & on the grounds he has to live there too. Punishment for being such a pathetic excuse for a pro footballer.

I reckon there might be more takers than you would think.

I think he is finished as Premiership footballer but if he was, for example, move to PSG then with a fresh start who knows what he might be able to do in that league. The same could be said for various other leagues, question is whether Torres would want to play in such leagues.

We will have to accept that we are going to lose a lot of money on this deal but I do think with the global marketing appeal that Torres has he would be attractive to various clubs who are trying to raise their profile as an elite club.

No way would Carlo, or possible Jose sign Torres now.

Russian league perhaps. If I were him I would just go to China or USA, makes some money & quit football, he's won everything other than a league title (& not much chance of that with him in our side). He looks unhappy & makes no effort.

China would be ideal for him in fact, he could nip over to thailand every now & then to mingle.

A most likely scenario is that Chelsea propose Torres plus a cash deal for Falcao.

Atletico is the only club Torres would be willing to accept a pay cut.

Other than that there are not many options on the table.

I have absolutely no sympathy for Torres and I can't understand those who have a problem with the booing. He has got off very lightly over the last two years and clearly a sizeable section of the support now think enough is enough. You pay your money and you takes your choice. Those people booing are the paying punters, who sacrifice time and money to support their club. They are doing what they feel is right for Chelsea, and I happen to agree with them.

Torres is a professional footballer, though you wouldn't know it. If you play as he has for as long as he has you can expect to get some stick. It goes with the territory. You take the accolades, you take the cash, you take the glory. There are a lot of benefits to being in the position he's in and he's had unwavering support since he joined. He's been given every chance. He can hardly complain.

He wanted top billing, he made that clear. He didn't like the way we played, he made that clear. He moaned when we won in Munich. He showed dissent to Di Matteo on the rare occasions he was subbed, despite being a below-par performer. This boy needs humbling and I think the boos did the trick on Wednesday. I don't think he'll be moaning in the press anytime soon about how the club are letting him down and I don't think he'll be shaking his head when he gets subbed. Those days have gone. He will no longer be indulged. You're no longer the golden boy so stop acting like one. Get your head down and practice, because you are sh*t.

If he had any humility he would have seen a head doctor long ago, because that's where the problem lies, in his head. He is scared to walk on a football field and has been since the day he joined, hence he hides. It is unforgivable. He takes home 175k a week. We should expect a return he should endeavour to provide a return. Go and see the head doctor and sort out your head. You owe it to Chelsea.

Nothing has changed apart from the fan reaction. Torres has been sh*t since he joined and all the excuses have been found out. Suddenly the slow-coaches have all begun to realise.

He has continually said the truth will come out about his departure from Liverpool. The truth is Nando, we trebled your wages. That's the truth. You left the club get over it. Grow some f**king balls for f**k's sake stop trying to pander to the Liverpool masses. You can't leave them and expect them to love you. You have to be tough. You have to allow them to think what they want about you. You are our player now. We deserve more.

Where's your f**king head?

I've criticised him all along the line. I didn't like his attitude towards Di Matteo I hated his reaction in the penalty shoot-out in Munich I've hated his body language on the pitch and I've hated his performances. You need to be tough to play for Chelsea, you need to be very tough upstairs, in the head. He isn't and he's never addressed that. Ba arrives and talks about how Torres is the main man and how he has so much to learn from him. Can you imagine Torres saying the same thing about Ba? Can you imagine Torres having the humility to go up to Ba and ask for tips? The fans needed to make plain how the pecking order stands, and ultimately, I think it will do Torres some good. The facade that he is some kind of elite player is over. He needs to stop those fancy flicks when we're cruising. He needs to knuckle down and address his problems and try to get back to being competent.

Stop pretending you're Juan Mata. You're not.

To those that say the booing might dent his confidence, don't make me laugh. He is sh*t and nothing has worked for nearly two years. This might be the shot in the arm he needs. Maybe it will make him angry maybe it will motivate him. If he's got anything about him it will. It's up to him to fight. He's had it way too good for too long.

When he walks into training now his status has been established. There is no more pretence and I think that's exactly what he needs. It's exactly what we all need. We need a Torres that has the humility to understand what a shocking performer he's been with us, and the problems all lie with him, nobody else.

And that is why I hate this thread....

I can't help myself. I've never felt like this about a current Chelsea player.

The problem is you can see he still has the potential, all be it vs pony teams like QPR, etc. But his lack of effort & care for Chelsea offends me. The list is too long to go into, but when we scored against Southampton he doesn't budge & has a face like thunder, thats not someone with Chelsea best interest at heart.

This is the face of someone who cares about Chelsea & feel what we do when we win: chelsea1.jpg

Spot on again Davey.

I dont like booing as I think its counter productive, but I also understand why people do it as its pretty much the only real way we as fans have of getting over how we feel. My only worry is not how it affects Torres but more how it affects the other players around him. Now if they, like us, realise he`s sh*t then maybe they understand it. But if they treat him like a respected team mate they can close ranks and it could also affect there confidence and mood.

Anyone who has been to a game this season can see how sh*t he is. The touch & instant control that Hazard, Mata, Oscar & co have is outstanding (a joy to watch). The ball comes to Torres & it very often balloons off him (Furlong style), or gets caught under his feet. Plus he looks like he's running in treacle half the time.

Rafa has said the reason he was so poor was cos he had a stomach bug...mmm...even if it were true, what's his excuse for the majority of the other 99 appearances? I'm fed up of hearing all the excuses why he hasn't' delivered...truth is he has played like that many times before and there was no stomach bug...it's time people at the club called a spade a spade...

And another thing, ba supposedly had a hamstring problem and is why he was on bench and played only a few mins...if that were true, surely you wouldn't risk him at all...also surely he wouldn't look a 100 times better than a dude with a stomach bug...I call a huge BS on this one

Edited by The Brit

How comes it's not O.K to boo Sturidge when he has a shot from a) ridiculous anges b) ridiculous range but it is O.K to boo Torres getting subbed off far to late in a game, when he hasn't made that decision?

The timing of the substitution for Ba the other night was down to the FIW nothing to do with Torres, yet he got the grief for it!

I don't agree with booing for the sake of it, and I'm sure that's what some of you are advocating!

The truth is, he shouldn't be starting games anymore, we all know it, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen.

I agree with you, just hate the club constantly coming with new bs to cover up for him...despite this, I don't agree with the booing either...can only make him worse, if that's possible

If he had a stomach bug, why did he stay on for 81 monutes? Same goes for Ba if he had a strain I think is what the FIW made excuses about, why risk him?

It's all BS

If he did have a stomach bug then what on earth was fsw doing playing him? He is sh*t, he has no confidence yet I know, ill play him when he isnt 100% fit, that can't fail to work.

I agree. It sounds like rubbish. Even if there was any truth in this, and Ba was genuinely not supposed to play, surely you would replace Torres with a false 9 for at least last half hour after confirming he wasn't fit to finish the game?

More worrying for me is that he has already set out an excuse to keep Ba benched for tomorrow's game. He isn't 100% fit but Torres is ready again after his stomach bug. Just watch.
