For the record for all i've said against Torres, i'd never boo him (or any other Chelsea player for that matter) either, last thing he needs is his own fans on his back making him even worse.

You feel sorry for the guy on 170K a week who does consistently does f**k all and has the cheek to sulk off to the media when things don't go his way?

Torres doesn't care about the club and we shouldn't care about him.   The sooner he is forced out the sooner we can get back to the old Chelsea.

This.

I've never understood why people feel sorry for players that put in shocking performances every game. Especially when earning ridiculous amounts of money. In all regular jobs you get complaints from customers and people that mouth off at you. Why on earth is it so shocking to some people for Torres too receive a few boos just because he's a football player? Trust me when I say, Torres won't be hurt by those boos at all, he'll collect his paycheck at the end of the week and carry on with his life.

I think the boo's were exactly what was needed.

This guy is not going to give up his huge wages and take a step down to a smaller club that will have him

Roman wont get rid of him

The only way to make sure this guy is not our number 9 next season is to let him know hes not wanted here

Harsh? Yes. At this stage i dont care. The club i love is being ruined before my very eyes. You can all decide which matter more. Torres feelings or getting this club back on track. That involves losing Torres and his pal Rafa

Frankly I understand where you're coming from but it's not his fault for being invisible and playing every match - owner; board and managers for 2 years they are the ones who made us put up with this.

I don't think booing is helping anything unless it's directed at the people responsible

The problem with booing, is it undermines the players confidence and the media will have a field day reporting how fans have turned on Torres and it just escalates into 'crisis at Chelsea' negativity, all the time!

Looks like all those people slagging me off yesterday for saying Torres is a waste of space were bang on.

80 minutes and his only contribution was winning a free kick off chico flores that looked a dive on the replay.

10 minutes for Ba and he gets 2 headers in on goal, gets tripped by the keeper in a 1 on 1, and scores a goal that may not have even be offside.

Hope you're all happy with your star #9

Seriously? Find me ONE person who had a go at you for calling Torres crap? In the match thread you referred to "all you Torres fanboys". What f**king fanboys?

Torres was sh*tE. Torres was sh*tE before he was "rested" and he was sh*tE again tonight. Nobody is saying otherwise. The only "defence" of Torres for weeks now has been against the almost unrelenting stream of personal abuse.

I also noted you refer to shedpensioner as a hypocrite for his criticism towards Lukaku. Sorry mate that's bullsh*t. Harsh or not, rightly or wrongly, agree or disagree, shedpensioner was referring to Lukaku's footballing ability only. Torres gets "Alice", "Ladyboy", "that c**t", "that f**king blonde" and so on and so on and so on. He is very probably the worst bit of transfer business in the entire history of the club, but massive failure or not, that still doesn't excuse the level of personal abuse directed towards him.

I hope I've made that clear. There's a massive difference between perfectly justified criticisms of his failure as a footballer and personal attacks. And you don't have to be a "fanboy" to object to those personal attacks.

Call me a fanboy and I'll laugh myself silly.

When a player cries to the press because hes not starting enough games, he is looking to gain more starts

He wanted to be our main man, he got his wish

Yet again all of you biased, agenda driven hypocrites concentrate on the negatives and completely ignore the positives.

His headband adjusting technique was flawless, as usual(!) and his positioning in the dugout when he was subbed was absolute textbook.

You lot just see what you want to see, give the poor man a break.

Took me a while to work out what you were talking about, then I realised that you were referring to a post made by Las7, not me.

I remember laughing sadly in the past at some of the stuff that happened and describing the club as a 'circus'. I never thought it would come to this - the club is dying before my very eyes. Is this the beginning of our retribution for selling our soul to the devil?

I feel like the devil would have a better handle on things than Roman. If only we'd made a deal with him instead of a Russian businessman with no acumen for football.

Don't agree with the booing one bit but it was inevitably going to happen at some point. Booing your own player is a mugs game but the paying support have had their patience tested to the limit.

I suspect that's the watershed now and he has officially gone past the point of no return with the support. It was always likely to happen when another forward who is performing was bought in to challenge him. I doubt he will recover.

It is completely, unarguably 100% over.

The part about shedpensioners "hypocrisy", yes you're right. I think it was the avatars that confused me. But the point remains that all these Torres fanboys are something of a myth. Think about it, even people who are saying that Torres needs to go, that he was overpriced, that he was crap again... are being referred to as "fanboys".

The sooner we drop all that crap, along with the more extreme personal stuff directed towards Torres himself, then perhaps we can get back to some semblance of a sensible discussion.

I don't get why FSW insists on serial rotation for every match, but then when changes are actually needed, he waits till the 81st minute...?

If Princess Fernando starts at Stoke I will be speechless.

then perhaps we can get back to some semblance of a sensible discussion.

The problem is that there's no sensible discussion to be had. If we limited discussion to that which is sensible, the topic would run its course after another page or two. One person would say, "boy howdy, that Fernando Torres sure is awful at football", then we'd have a few pages of "I concur, well said" and that'd be that.

Quite simple. Because he's a useless, fat, Spanish conman.

Note: The word "Spanish" is not intended as a slur. It's just that he happens to be a useless fat conman who was born in Spain. He is therefore a useless, fat, Spanish conman. And he looks like a waiter.

It makes for such a stark contrast to last season, or his first long awaited goal for the club. The fans went absolutely berserk when he scored.

At that time, he would have the occasional sh*te game, but he would also run himself into the ground and wind up setting up others players to score.

Now he's just an imitation of a professional, a broken player. And a symbol of the almighty, god awful mess Chelsea is right now.

Roman, youre an arrogant bar steward, and you dont know football. Agree with Lane, its just better if we cut him at this point, because he is a sunk investment and will forever be known as the most disastrous transfer in history.

No Brandinho, we have to accrue more pages of turgid sarcasm about how incredibly beyond sh*te he has become because its funny, or something.

I guess all some people can do is laugh at the dysfunctional mess of it all, but personally I just get depressed thinking about it.

Thanks for clearing that up. I completely agree.

You're missing the point. Which is that Torres defenders are few and far between, if they even exist.

203 pages in this thread of which very little is about Torres the actual footballer. Take away all the abuse hurled either towards Torres or these fictional fanboys and you're left with very little.

In all honesty I don't know why I bother. I leave this thread alone for days. Then I'll allow myself to get drawn in against my better judgement. If no sensible discussion is possible (which I've been saying myself for sometime) then it's because people really are too blinded by hostility, frustration, call it what you like - to read what's actually been written.

Sod it. I'm out of it
