Although he didn't score I must say he had a big improvement. Great pace at times too.

- He blasts the ball skyhigh over the bar from 7-8m

- Looses countless duels with Arsenal defenders, where one leads to an Arsenal counterattack and goal.

- Nowhere to be found infront of goal. A good example of this is when Cole delivers a good header into the box after a cross, only to see Torres starting late outside the box.

- Struggles with simple passes and can't keep the ball for more then 2-3 seconds in second half.

Only thing he did during 80 minutes was run past a couple of Arsenal defenders, but failed big time to capitalize on it.

I just want him gone at this point, don't want to see him wearing a Chelsea shirt again.

Sadly this is spot on.

Had to laugh when for the first time in the game today Torres accelerated clear of his marker and Alan Smith said 'That's the old Torres' then his first touch as he approached the keeper was his usual tackle !

Then came a burst of speed down the right when he cut inside and passed appallingly across when a decent striker would have had a punt at goal.

Roman clapped like a good un' when Ba replaced him but one wonders for Torres or Demba ?

One thing is for sure Demba Ba looks a cracking signing, his movement in 10 mins was outstanding like when replacing Torres against Swansea.

Please Please Spanish waiter start Ba at Swansea.

Unfortunately I think he was clapping Torres. W A C (what a c**t)

I don't know how anyone, even Torres biggest fan, can say he had a reasonable game today. What the hell were you watching? He didn't do anything well. Nothing. From the cross he put out of play in the first few minutes, to the falling over for Le Arse's goal to the dreadful touch after he had run past the defender. He was simply awful. One of worst performances ever IMO.

We need to be careful with Demba Ba here. He has come in and looked the part, but he, like any other player has to have confidence and belief in himself. And if the FSW continues starting Torres in the big games Ba may begin to doubt his worth and question whether there is an agenda that puts Torres in the team regardless of form and ability. Personally I felt today was the last, last chance saloon for Torres. And after that performance I wouldn't start him again in any games until the end of the season. We either buy another forward, try Moses centrally, or promote someone like Feruz from the kids. But for Torres that's it. Finito.

FSW on Torres today:

"Today Torres was a key player for us. Every run he was always there and ready and pushing the defenders. And he makes space for Mata, a good winger. He and Demba Ba did well."

"We have been doing well, creating chances in all our games. In the games we didn't win we deserved to win. It was just a matter of time until we had a performance like this."

:face_palm: Expect many more games where we play a man down.

He's on drugs.

I disagree, he was also involved in Arsenal's only goal

Someone smarter than me should post a gif of Torres going ass over tea-kettle after colliding with Sczezny. It was Torres at his awful best, a poor touch right to the keeper and then he got destroyed. I give him some credit for his effort on the play, but for the rest of it, all I can say is, What the f**k was that Fernando?

This guy is a f**king joke. One day the guy that is giving the interview will just get bored and shove the microphone in Benitez mouth.

Ba's miss was worse than anything Torres did today though, I hate to think what this thread would have been like had Fernando done that

It wasn't a miss, it was cleared off the line. And no it wasn't worse than anything Torres did, Torres failed to do the most basic thing in football, control the ball.

He didn't do anything well. Nothing.

I'm afraid you're wrong there. Midway through the second half the ball was played out for an injury to an Arsenal player. Mata took the ball for the throw-in and Torres took the responsibility, showing well for Mata, nice first touch, then looked up and played the ball back to the Arsenal keeper.

The scariest thing about today was Roman clapping Torres off the pitch. It is possible that he knows so little as to thing that Torres made a contribution.

Has anyone ever seen Roman and Bluehatter in the same room?

Irrespective of us not playing like champions of the world, can i remind you all WE WON TODAY........CELEBRATE

I'm really confused these days, there's so many of our fans who want us to lose (whatever they say) that I can almost feel the disappointment when we win.

It's almost the same with Torres, on the rare occasions he scores then we don't know how to celebrate it because we know it increases his chances of playing more games.

He's finished as a player at this club, nothing will give him back the confidence he used to have, all we can watch now is his price dropping, surely someone, somewhere, with money, has not noticed, please.

How on earth Benetiz can single out Torres today is beyond me. He was crap end of story.

A scouse tea party indeed

Don't think he does single him out tbh. It's just that every damn interviewer is as obsessed with torres as 99% of people on here and keep asking him how torres played.

I've put that into babelfish and got this back,

"Today Torres was a key player for me. He runs fast and is sometimes noticed by defenders. And he makes space for Mata, a better player. I'd never heard of Demba Ba till last week

I have been doing drugs, creating fantasies in all our games. In the games we didn't win I was sad. It is just a matter of time until you get a new manager. These are facts."

and the answer to that situation is completely in the fat spanish waiter's hands!!! Don't f*cking pick him you twat !!!!
