Roman Abramovich - the best owner in world club football

Featured Replies

With all the negativity and increasingly hysterical atmosphere on this forum, I wanted to post in support of our owner and take a moment to make a few people think.

Roman Abramovich is the best owner in world club football bar none. Ever since buying Chelsea, he has demanded Success and Glory and settled for nothing less. He has invested money not just in players but into areas of the club like training facilities, which are now one of the best in the world at Cobham.

Under his ownership and leadership Chelsea has become one of the biggest and most successful clubs in European football, a club top players from all over the world want to join. Abramovich is responsible for bringing some of the best players and managers in the world to Chelsea FC.

Unlike other owners Abramovich comes to watch Chelsea as often as possible and takes an active interest in the club. He is a genuine football fan and his passion for Chelsea was on display at the CL Final in Munich. Caught on TV cameras, his emotions and reactions were the very same as Chelsea fans in the stadium and all around the world. Roman Abramovich has invested HIS OWN money into Chelsea, now totaling £1BN, he always delivers for the club, whatever we need. Contrast this with owners of other clubs, be it ripping off fans (arsenal), failing to invest in players (arsenal), taking money out of the club (man united), selling their best players (arsenal & united), driving the club to near bankruptcy (liverpool), actually watching the club in person can be counted on one hand (arsenal, city), constant bargain basement buys (spurs, arsenal). Abramovich has given us Chelsea fans some of the best moments and memories in our lives and our success has attracted man many more fans to become Blues. He has NEVER asked fans for anything in return for what he has given and brought to this club. Surely some gratitude is in order?

Unfortunately due to media bias and negativity towards Abramovich, fueled in some part because of anti-Russian prejudice, he is always caricatured as a bad person. Now some Chelsea fans are hopping on the bandwagon, it's incredibly sad to see. I really hope people start to put things into perspective.

Here is a positive article (probably the one and only):

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1196587-roman-abramovich-a-look-at-chelsea-fcs-owner

Lastly, to prove Roman is an all round good guy:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2056246/Roman-Abramovich-paid-ransom-free-British-hostages-held-Chechen-rebels.html

He paid a ransom to free British hostages and NEVER sought any publicity.

All I ask is you remember some of these things before you all do anything you will regret and anything that will damage Chelsea FC.

You're probably a plant but I agree with this 100%

Wouldn't swap Roman for any other owner in the world.

I'm really not! I understand how it seems that way, but this is genuinely my belief.

I just see people posting increasingly hysterical things and the big picture is being forgotten. Egged on by the media blowing anything to do with Chelsea out of all proportion and the appointment of Benitez, some fans seem to be losing their heads. I just want to put an opposite view, even if it means being shouted down, ridiculed etc etc. Sometimes you have to stand up for your view and I don't want to just stand by when the best owner in world club football is being villified. No owner is going to please every fan, all of the time, but by God Abramovich has come close, especially when compared to other owners. I just don't understand why Chelsea fans are so quick to get on his back when the likes of Arsenal don't say a peep about what goes on at their club.

We are a club that regularly sacks managers, is this really the biggest crime in the world? Even before Abramovich, under Ken Bates we were not stability driven, he sacked a fair number. In other Countries the media don't react like they do here when a manager is dismissed, it's a very strange weird 'fetish', the English media has about not sacking managers. I for one like that Roman Abramovich doesn't care what the media think or say about him.

Actually no, if I was towing the party line, I would be following the herd on here and criticising him but I'm not I'm trying to put another view across and make people think. That is the OPPOSITE of North Korea.

I agree mostly, but his trigger happy finger is a bit too itchy for my liking. Never the less, he's the owner, he can do what he wants and you can guarantee Chelsea's best interest is firmly in his heart.

A plant from Liverpool, I would have thought the club could look more locally than that!

Is she even a she?

Whilst that image made me laugh, I think there is a fair point to be made. I was hugely disappointed by Robbie's dismissal & quite underwhelmed by Benetiz appointment that feels a lot about Torres - although I don't think he is a bad manager.

I hope no one gets booed on sunday & think some sort of tribute to Robbie would show class.

Plant or not ... I agree with the post.

However piss poor some of Romans decisions are (to us) it'e very hard to argue that he does it out of a love for the club.

Don't quite follow what you mean here. Are you saying you think his decisions aren't taken out of a love for the club?

Actually it doesn't matter whether they are or not. What matters is that he is not competent to take those decisions. We all love the club. But how many of us would be competent to take decisions about its future?

Um, well, I can think of a few Shed Enders whom I would consider more competent than Abramovich.

Yes Moi, that's exactly what i'm saying, and however bad some of them are, i prefer they were taken by someone who really cares as opposed to the club bleeding w**kers at most of the other big clubs.

This is a bloke who goes to most of our matches (and it's not as if he hasn't got anything to do), doesn't take (or want it appears) to take a penny out of our club, will leave us (when he goes) in damn site better state than he found us !!

All that being said, i'm just as frustrated as most on here that Benitez is here, and all the other sh*tstorms we seem to get embroiled in.

I am massively impressed with RA, i have a theory, no manager at chelsea will get the long haul, he keeps the team fresh with the manager fear factor, deliver or be gone, that is his MO, which has served us massively, wegner wouldn't of survived under his tutelage, and a fergie is just a freakishly good/ lucky manager. what looks like cold blooded Executions, are always rewarded with huge compo payouts, so we shouldn't cry to long, the only thing that is dented is pride, nine and counting managers 11 major pots, i wouldnt want anybody but RA at the helm, IN ROMAN WE TRUST.

Without RA there would be no CL and RDM would never have been in charge to begin with.

While I don't agree with the sacking, anyone saying that RA should go, or that hes been a bad owner, is being ridiculous.

Or was it established that "she" was "he"?
