If we was playing chess, then it's got to be Cech mate, as it's football, Courtois is a must to safe guard our future.

I believe that Petr's latest injury could have an unforeseen bearing on the clubs decision, maybe now the club wont be sure that Petr will get back to how he was, and that will influence a decision to bring Courtoius back maybe a year before they had planned..

Only a theory i know, but certainly not too far out there to be possible ?

I shared your sentiments a page back or so, and am as concerned about Cech's injury is a bad one for a keeper. The fact he had surgery relays the seriousness and the future risk for re-injury. Goalies and athletic types of keepers like cech will undoubtably be hitting the ground on their shoulder and the last thing you want is doubt in the keepers eyes that he will be afraid to go in the direction it might hurt to land on...

So the bigger question is would we be in for a keeper this summer if we didnt have court on the books? Schwar certainly wouldn't be good enough to be our #1 between the sticks?!

Long story short there should be no doubt to have court back full time 14/15

But surely it's less of a risk to play Courtois as our No.1, who most now accept is the best keeper in the world than it is to play Cech not knowing how the latest injury will have affected him?

Courtois running his mouth again:

"At Chelsea I have no emotional connection. They signed me up in 2011, nine million euros. Since then I've gone to London only for the medical check.

Already last year Chelsea no longer wanted to loan. But I wanted to stay in Madrid. After this season, it all goes back over again, and it is probably even more difficult to make a decision."

The bloke gets asked at every opportunity about Chelsea when he's about to play in the biggest game of his life for Atletico, can't really blame him for any of those comments although he would have been better not voicing them.

Not running his mouth just telling it like it is.

Chelsea have flogged him twice and every time he does well he gets flogged again, he wants to play first team football and with Cech he knows it won't happen here.

Probably wan't his long term future sorted out...not knowing where you are going to live next season for 3 years running isn't exactly good for the lad or his family.

Come on, let's not act as if Courtois has somehow been mistreated here. When he first signed for us he had one of the world's best goalkeepers in front of him, and that's still the case. He was never going to just waltz into the team. We did him a favour by letting him stay on loan at Atletico for three years running, probably subsidising his wages as well, and did him another one recently by allowing him to play against us.

I doubt he'd have signed if he knew he would not get a single chance until at least season 2014-15 (IF that) despite being one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.

He has every right to say what he has said, it's not cocky or being disrespectful at all like some are trying to say.

We also didn't do him any favours by 'letting' him play against us for goodness sake...the governing body stepped in and said he would be playing and that was that.

He'd be an idiot to think Cech wouldn't be here in 3 years. At the time he was a no name GK in belgium not "one of the best".

He was very naive if he thought in a few years time Cech would just be turfed out to make way for him. Like a left-back signing for us when Ashley Cole was in his pomp.

We turned a blind eye to an agreement made between ourselves and Atletico when we could have kicked up a fuss had we been minded to. I doubt we just waived it because UEFA said so, it'll probably be used as a negotiating chip further down the line.

At the time he was just voted MVP in the league at 18 years for the team that were unlikely champions while being closely watched by dozens of scouts of Europe's biggest clubs, which Chelsea outbid. Atletico offered 7 million for him, Chelsea 9.

No name GK, what a stupid statement... Football is played outside of the PL, La Liga and the BL.

I've been saying my preferred destination for Cech would be real. Top club, familiar manager. (Maybe sweeten things for a bid for Modric or Di Maria as well).
