Stats don't really tell the story.

 

From what I've seen, Courtois's advantage is that he commands his box better than Cech does.

 

They are both great shot stoppers but Cech's ability to come for crosses has dipped following his shoulder problems and that means he is reluctant to come out and catch the ball.  Courtois looks more comfortable.

 

I'd bite the bullet and make the change.

Courtois is the best keeper in the WORLD. He's much better than Neuer who was considered as the best keeper.
He make impossible saves. His reflexes are too fast.

I'm a huge Cech fan but I think his time has come, we just can't waste this exceptional talent we have. Courtois is just INCREDIBLE.

alot of the teams in the botton half of spain would beat the bottom half prem teams.

There isnt a big difference in quality, just tempo, and playing styles.

After seeing the boy in action I've got to say I'd like to see Courtois in goal for us next year.

The injuries have crept in for Cech in the last couple of years and apparently he has a long standing elbow injury and also trouble with his eye sight.

 

It's a good time and opportunity to bring the new goalkeeper in and so I think we should do it.

He's missed like, less than 10 games due to injury in the past 4 years.

 

Checking the stats, he's played more games in the past 4 years than the previous 4.

If we are truly after Costa I think Athltico will force our hand to keep Courtois in Spain for one last season as part of the deal.

I seem to remember Hilario and Turnbull playing a few games for us. 

 

Like I said, it's starting to creep in and it's possible that time out with injuries could become a more common occurrence. It's not a sole reason for think Courtois should come back but it's worth considering.

 

Courtois could end the season as a Spanish and European champion, he's gained the required experience and so now it's time to reap the benefit of our investment.

One theory is that a gentleman's agreement was reached where the €5m would be deducted from the asking price for Costa after UEFA stepped in with the Courtois contract clause. 

Check my edit, last season saw him play the most out of any of his previous seasons too.

I'd be happy for another loan if it was an option but I can't see him extending his contract with us (to make it happen) after we never seem to give him a chance despite being one of the best GK's in Europe.

I love Petr Cech and he has been a huge player for us for 10 years now, but it's time to bring Courtois back. He is our future, and we need to secure him in our 1st team before he prefers life elsewhere (in Spain) for good.

Well put. Cech has done nothing wrong but we have to ensure Courtois long term service, akin to Pete. If we get Costa cheaper it may be worth 'one more season' on loan but def nothing more after that... I wouldn't have him fighting it out with Pete either, its one or the other for me which may sounds weird as every other player has to fight for their spot but I just don't think on this occasion it's that simple.

I would bring Courtois back and slowly intergrate him into the team.

There are enough games with the PL, FA Cup, League Cup and CL. Cech does not have to play every match now and Courtois can eventually take the number one spot if he shows the kind of brilliant form that we have seen with Athletico over the last few years.
