Courtois has to be number 1 next season at this club, he is special.

 

I have to agree with this.   Cech is also very special and has been for a decade now however this decision is purely one looking to the future, it is, in no way, a criticism of Cech or my confidence that he would be a fine keeper for another season or three. It is time to make the same big decision Jose made when Cech replaced Carlo. 

The simple fact most Chelsea fans miss is the fact this kid consistently has more of an influence in games than any other player on the pitch and he has done this since he was a kid at Genk. He won the league by HIMSELF that year. Every team that plays against him know ONE goal is the probable maximum outcome. That is the SOLE reason we crumbled after they equalised midweek. Without question we will be talking about him being the best keeper IN HISTORY in a few years. Too many Chelsea fans are getting involved in SENTIMENT when it comes to Cech.

I cannot say it in anymore terms but it is like saying someone like Maradona, Best or Pele in their prime shouldn't replace an older star when their time was in question to stay or go. If we fail to bring him back this season the kid will haunt us for 10 years plus. He already has been part of a team who beat us twice in major games it would be ridiculous to let him go.

 

I feel plenty of others are getting caught up in hyperbole in their rush to get rid of Cech. Courtois in the same bracket as Pele, Best and Maradona? Really? If that's what people are expecting then I think they'll be disappointed...

I have to disagree. My father in law is a season ticket holder at Elche and from watching them the wouldn't even be top half in the championship.

I know you guys are so keen on Courtios and make this has made you a bit blinkered but do not let the starts convince you because Spain is an easier league.

better to look at his performances against RM, Barca, Milan,...CFC and other European giants over the past 2 years

I'm expecting him to be a better goalkeeper than Pele, best, and Maradona put together! Lol

Two keepers,one great and one with the potential to be great,what a nice problem to have Jose.

In terms of goalkeepers I strongly believe Courtios will be compared to the greatest goalkeepers of all time. The very fact Barcelona are likely to pay 40 million for his services at this young age shows his worth in Spain. The best teams always have the best goalkeepers and Courtios is the BEST.

I don't get why anyone says Courtios has POTENTIAL Jesus Christ what more has the kid have to do prove he is great already ?
