September 2, 201312 yr Again what has Rafa Benitez got to do with any of that? Move the f**k on.Well RB got a lot of stick, some unjustified while JM just sails in and is critique proof.
September 2, 201312 yr Jose isn't untouchable and quite frankly I strongly disagree with this decision. We've just loaned out our best striker, again. Why?
September 2, 201312 yr Maybe he asked Mourinho for the loan move? Going to Everton means he gets first team football and is under less pressure. The boy is only 20? At first I was a bit sceptical about Lukaku going on loan, but now I think it's the best decision. I just have a feeling this was Lukaku's decision more than Mourinho's.

Not good if pressure gets to him that easily though

And would be your decision if you were told you are forth choice no matter what.Torres has to play, owners pet,Eto is managers buy,Ba cant be get rid of. Edited September 2, 201312 yr by haifarul
September 2, 201312 yr He'll have plenty of time to be a Chelsea Legend. Everton are no threat to us and Martinez will make sure he gets plenty of time. Could be a good move. Still, it does leave us feeling a bit light up front.
September 2, 201312 yr Well RB got a lot of stick, some unjustified while JM just sails in and is critique proof. Oh boo hoo.
September 2, 201312 yr Yes. @RomeluLukaku9: Signed @Everton on a season loan :-). Goddamnit. I'm guess that was you adding on the "goddamnit" and not Lukaku...
September 2, 201312 yr Not good if pressure gets to him that easily though Well actually it proves the opposite. If he thought after that penalty he wasn't ready for top european football (He looked very nervous when he was on the pitch) he would most likely be motivated to improve. Lukaku wasn't going to be first choice here, let's be realistic. That boy is Chelsea through and through, and I feel he wants more first team experience before he returns to Chelsea.

September 2, 201312 yr I'm guess that was you adding on the "goddamnit" and not Lukaku.. Haha yeah. So a striker had to go and it seemed Jose didn't mind if it was either Ba or Lukaku. Massively disappointed would of preferred Ba to go. Now what are the chances Lukaku scores more than any of our strikers in the league again.. Edited September 2, 201312 yr by Bez
September 2, 201312 yr I'm not convinced loaning Lukaku out was our original intention. Ideally it would have been Ba who went, but as we couldn't move him on and didn't want to just lend him to Arsenal for a year, another striker had to go. Torres is unshiftable, so it had to be Lukaku. That's what happens when you leave everything to the last day, you end up with last ditch desperation deals like this and lending Moses to Liverpool
September 2, 201312 yr Missed the penalty - out the door then, bit harsh. Why buy him or Moses in the 1st place ?
September 2, 201312 yr I hope he ends up first choice for Everton and get hatticks against everyone in the top 6, single handedly carrying them into the top 4.

Perhaps that's why Tottenham supposedly came in for Torres with a stupidly low offer. We had to get rid of a striker no matter what, Hilario can't even be registered for this season I believe. BA & £1.5 Million to Arsenal to strengthen them or letting Lukaku go on loan, I can see the dilemma. Edited September 2, 201312 yr by Bez
September 2, 201312 yr Don't worry guys, José's bringing back the glory years! Oh please. We have 2 retirees and one donkey to choose from up front.
September 2, 201312 yr Bit sad about this. Still its better for Lukaku to play rather than sit on bench. Jose is going to get results this season but Lukaku didn't even get a go. I hope Eto is up to the job.
September 2, 201312 yr Why dont sell just sell him and be done with it.Next year Torres will still be here,we will sign somebody else for loads of wonga so unless he scores 30 goals he will never a look.Pretty shabby way to treat a promising player.
September 2, 201312 yr Probably the best option for Romelu, better than sitting on the bench. He has to play too to have equal chances in the NT (next to Benteke). Just sad that we didn't see him playing a single full game for us, would have made it easier (or not) for the fans to let him go on a loan... the lad worked his *ss off this summer, no doubt he'll be the Kraken over there (at least he's playing in a blue shirt)
September 2, 201312 yr The more I think about this the more it makes sense. JM doesn't want 4 strikers because he has no intention in playing more than one at any given time. So one on the pitch, one on the bench and one resting. We have loads of midfielders so I guess it's a 4-5-1, 4-3-3, 4-4-1-1, 4-2-3-1 or a 4-1-3-1-1 formation for us. Gotta use all those midfielders somewhere! Ba has more experience and this is his last chance to prove he can cut it at this level. I think JM is loaning out Lukaku to make sure he isn't under pressure at Chelsea or not getting games. At 21 he could be read for us.

Its just that there are at least 2 strikers who deserve to be moved on before lukaku

Its just that there are at least 2 strikers who deserve to be moved on before lukaku And one of those strikers must feel a bit like sh*t now seeing as we tried to ship him out on loan. Who knows what is going through his head.
