June 11, 201313 yr Neymar hasn't proven anything yet, his goals to game ratio for Santos is impressive but unless he transfers that form to Barca I remain unconvinced about how good he really is. Oscar took the plunge at playing in Europe and hasn't looked out of place in a league where previously South Americans have struggled to settle.
June 11, 201313 yr His performances in the league were good, they got better as the season finished. His performances in Europe though i thought were excellent.
June 11, 201313 yr Last night I randomly rewatched our champions league group stage home match against Juve, his first ucl match I believe it was and I was reminded how bloody much of talent this kid actually has.
June 15, 201313 yr It'll probably get taken down soon, but here you go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OEGueWEetQ
June 15, 201313 yr i thought oscar, hazard and mata are selfish and dont want to pass to the striker in front of them . . . . Edited June 15, 201313 yr by Lane
June 15, 201313 yr He really needs to play in the middle. Hopefully Schurrle helps to facilitate that.
June 15, 201313 yr Oscar's assist for the third goal was awesome and showcased the drive that he can provide from a deeper position. I'd like to see him play in the pivot alongside a proper holding player.
June 16, 201313 yr He made the most tackles in tonights game (again).A big attribute of his, another reason to play him deeper.
June 16, 201313 yr Does anyone see him being able to take the #10 role in the team and push Mata to the right wing?
June 16, 201313 yr Does anyone see him being able to take the #10 role in the team and push Mata to the right wing? Nope Mata in my opinion is much better playing CAM than out wide as a winger.
June 16, 201313 yr Nope Mata in my opinion is much better playing CAM than out wide as a winger. So is Oscar. So if people genuinely think he has more potential than Mata or Hazard, shouldn't he receive the priority position? (#10).
June 16, 201313 yr That's one of our problems (and a problem that we love to have), both of them have a roughly the same level creativity and passing skill. One idea is to have a dynamic player maker position, where they are taking turn to be the pivot in the center.
June 16, 201313 yr A mate just tried to tell me that Theo Walcott has more class than Oscar . Just no . Not even close .
June 16, 201313 yr A mate just tried to tell me that Theo Walcott has more class than Oscar . Just no . Not even close .Walcott is a glorified athlete, he seems to be the player England have based their future on. Quick, athletic players. IMO Walcott is a manufactured footballer, it doesn't come naturally to him and he's been coached excessively and still not improved. Oscar is a naturally gifted footballer and at 21, the linchpin in the Brazilian national side. He will go on to achieve far more than Walcott ever will for club and country. June 16, 201313 yr Oscar is a g, that was a phenomenal assist and he is twice the footballer Theo Walcott will ever be.
June 16, 201313 yr He certainly has the attributes to play more centrally. Maybe something like: ----------------------------------------Cech --Azpiluceta-------------Ivanovic---------Terry-------------Cole ------------------------Oscar-----------------Luiz --Schurrle-------------------------Mata-------------------------Hazard -------------------------------[Decent striker]
June 16, 201313 yr I want to see Oscar deeper, but it wouldn't really work alongside Luiz. Luiz wouldn't stay back to cover for Oscar. It'd be fine against smaller sides that aren't physical, as in championship sides in the FA Cup, but I wouldn't trust it against most Premiership, because Oscar can be bullied and I wouldn't be sure if Luiz would stay back to protect and cover him. I prefer Luiz in defence, anyway, but if we play him in midfield it needs to be next to Mikel or whoever we may sign as a step up from Mikel and the same goes for Oscar, really.

He's already ahead of Walcott just by winning the Europa Cup. Edited June 16, 201313 yr by CunningStunt
