Oscar - Little Diamond

Injured today? or dropped?

Or being saved for PSG. With the way we are playing today against Newcastle though, i would be happy for him to sit out that game too. Pedro, Willian and Hazard looks more dangerous to me, especially when we play with pace and counter well.

I heard someone mention a calf injury, didn't say how severe.

Yes, Guus said he had a calf injury. It's not serious and dropping him was precautionary due to the upcoming PSG game.

His inconsistency is surely mental. I wonder if he's systematically analyzed differences between good and bad performances. Are they during certain times of day, dependent on sleep the night before, talking to ___ beforehand...? There are many little things that affect you that you're unaware of and that sound silly.

I imagine Chelsea has sports psychologists guiding them, but I'm not sure about the quality, experience, and most importantly the compatibility with a specific player. The pool of licensed sports psychologists that speak Portuguese and have a deep understanding of Brazilian culture is probably limited.

The guy is so average.

I know majority of chelsea fans are fed up with him. Took a chance away from Traore and Hazard yesterday. He had just come on and had done nothing to deserve to take it.

Praying he goes in the summer rather than Pedro or Hazard.

No more pens for him, was bad enough he took it off the boy who earned it but to look foolish with a daft stutter run before missing it was woeful.

His backheels that NEVER come off are really grating on me too, just keep it simple you are not Messi or Zidane so stop trying to be something you are not.

Cash in come summer time I hope.

Wheres ForeverCarefree to tell us how the sun was in his eyes/it was too windy/someone sabotaged the penalty spot

He can then go on to tell us how stealing the penalty away from Traore was just tough love and not the act of a greedy gobsh*te

It was a sh*t penalty with awful technique and I said that in the match day thread.

You was too busy going on like he'd sh*t in your shoes and probably missed it.

I was at the game so I didn't get to read through the match thread, just had time to vent my dislike of Oscar, I feel I don't do it enough ;)

You love him really.

His boyish good looks.

The inheritance of Lampard's number 8 shirt.

The confidence and guile to take our penalties and attempt the back heel passes.

Legend in the making this little lad and you've loved every second of seeing history be made.

Funnily enough I hadn't thought about him taking the lampard shirt until the other day when he gave the interviewing bringing it up. He also brought up that he took drogba's number too. Never had one been so undeserving of these numbers.

I honestly don't think it's a coincidence that we are playing better now that he's been benched. He slows down the play too much and loses the ball more often than not when he's in good positions

I was hoping we would sell him 2 seasons ago to Juventus but some of the fans were saying he could be as good as Hazard... And ironically he is as good as Hazard.

I remember all the excuses: World Cup, Injuries and then some sh*t with his sister.

tbf we were playing him out of position on the wing.

Granted, he appears to have lost his place in the starting XI.  For me Oscar has not been as poor as some say.  Yesterday was not his day, and a shocker of a penalty (that makes two now), but he sticks a foot in and puts a shift in both ways.  He's more clever with the ball than he gets credit for as well.

His problem is and always has been consistence.  He needs to have a good run of form to gain the respect of the fans.  He will have a good game then be anonymous for a month.  It's really annoying as I think on his day he is a class player.
