February 5, 201610 yr If 75 million is to be believed i think that can be taken as another indication that Allegri will be our next manager. He is a huge Oscar fan. If not surely we would have taken that and ran. Unless we believe they will be coming back in the summer with an even bigger offer. The papers seem to think they'l be back in for him.
February 5, 201610 yr incredible to believe oscar is still only 24; seems like he's been with us for about ages.
February 5, 201610 yr So let's say it's the rumoured 75m plus the 25m for Rami. Now if the rumours of Pogba going for 80m are to be believed and what was Griezmann rumoured to be going for? 40? 50m? If you'd told me we could swap Ramires & Oscar for Pogba & Griezmann with a net spent of 20/30m I'd have said you'd lost your mind, but there you have it. Disclaimer: this is assuming those players would come, I am purely taking that from the rumoured transfer fees invloved in each player.
February 5, 201610 yr Also on the fact people don't think he'd go, who would have thought Texeira would go when he'd been linked with us and to a lesser extent Liverpool? Money does funny things to people, even millionaires!
February 5, 201610 yr The board would never have turned down that much money even if it meant crippling the first team more. Treating it as true and a stick to beat the board and player with is dumb.
February 5, 201610 yr The money is a good but it would send the wrong message out to sell first team player. Squad players are fine to sell but not first team. We can't keep selling and not replacing with equal quality.
February 5, 201610 yr I guess we probably told them to come back in the summer, when we will have a manager in place and a replacement lined up. I can't see us attracting the big names next summer, it might take a few gambles to push us back into Europe. Oscar for me though is very replaceable. Especially if we receive 75m.
February 5, 201610 yr His agent apparently confirmed the bid: http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2016/2/5/10921882/oscar-chelsea-fc-jiangsu-suning-transfer-bid-confirmed-agent-report I guess that side love Brazilian players.
February 5, 201610 yr Would Oscar even want to leave for China ? i mean, he's still got another 10 years at the top level ahead of him. He's going to make a bucket load of money no matter what anyway and if he goes to China he misses out on European football for the majority of his career and massively risks losing his spot in Brazil squad.

February 5, 201610 yr Always been a big fan of Oscar but he hasn't kicked on with his potential, he's still hugely inconsistent and anything over 50 million would be great business Quite a few options we could replace him with, James Rodriguez, Isco, Griezmann, Gotze, Mata James Rodriguez would be my choice but unsure how realistic that would be
February 5, 201610 yr I too have always liked Oscar. I think our machine just ticks better when he is in the squad. His work rate is something few attack minded mids have these days. With that said, 75m is a hefty fee to say "no" to. For me, he probably is off in the summer and Isco would be my ideal replacement. Apparently he is a bit unsettled at real.
February 5, 201610 yr Lol, what makes anyone think Oscar would accept a move to China? So they offer us 75 million and then he just packs up and moves? That isn't the way it works. If he doesn't want to go he simply won't sign a contract with them and ruin the whole deal.

February 11, 201610 yr The news timetowaste had been hoping for: Oscar: "I want to stay here for a long time. I want to win more games, more trophies, because I love Chelsea, I love the fans."
February 11, 201610 yr The news timetowaste had been hoping for: Oscar: "I want to stay here for a long time. I want to win more games, more trophies, because I love Chelsea, I love the fans." To be fair if we're the only big team that are daft enough to have him as a starter so I don't blame him for loving us. Joking aside, it's nice to have players that love the club, I just wish he was better at football.
February 12, 201610 yr I really like oscar. I still have this feeling that he will iron out his inconsistencies and become on of our most important players of the next 10 years. Plus, with our transfer dealings of recent we will have money to spend, selling important players is not the answer. A few shrewd signings is.
February 12, 201610 yr The news timetowaste had been hoping for: Oscar: "I want to stay here for a long time. I want to win more games, more trophies, because I love Chelsea, I love the fans." The season just gets worse and worse...take a hint buddy and take your mediocrity elsewhere

Here I thought they were getting good Money for players unwanted by the manager, but what they are doing instead is crippling the team in their pursuit for profit. That's what people have been saying for the last 4 years since he joined!
February 12, 201610 yr That's what people have been saying for the last 4 years since he joined! Oscar is the biggest tease I can remember. Bang average 90% of the time, but then he has those moments of quality that makes you cling to hope that he can string it together in a row of games. Would be great if he could start to iron out some inconcistencies, but at this point I doubt it will ever happen

Would be great if he could start to iron out some inconcistencies, but at this point I doubt it will ever happen You're probably right. I have noticed that whenever Oscar has space to play, he is more deadly and tends to get a goal, but most of the time in the Premier League you get no space to play. Maybe the Premier League isn't the best place for Oscar's skills, i guarantee he would be more consistent in Spain.
February 13, 201610 yr That's what people have been saying for the last 4 years since he joined! He has been a lot better under guus. When he is allowed to attack more he is a lot more effective.
