If 75 million is to be believed i think that can be taken as another indication that Allegri will be our next manager. He is a huge Oscar fan. If not surely we would have taken that and ran. Unless we believe they will be coming back in the summer with an even bigger offer. The papers seem to think they'l be back in for him.

If you'd told me we could swap Ramires & Oscar for Pogba & Griezmann with a net spent of 20/30m I'd have said you'd lost your mind, but there you have it.

The board would never have turned down that much money even if it meant crippling the first team more. Treating it as true and a stick to beat the board and player with is dumb.

The money is a good but it would send the wrong message out to sell first team player. Squad players are fine to sell but not first team.

We can't keep selling and not replacing with equal quality.

I guess we probably told them to come back in the summer, when we will have a manager in place and a replacement lined up.

I can't see us attracting the big names next summer, it might take a few gambles to push us back into Europe.

Oscar for me though is very replaceable. Especially if we receive 75m.

Would Oscar even want to leave for China ? i mean, he's still got another 10 years at the top level ahead of him. He's going to make a bucket load of money no matter what anyway and if he goes to China he misses out on European football for the majority of his career and massively risks losing his spot in Brazil squad.

griezmann would be a good replacement for costa maybe, but pogba for me is still overrated and not worth what people claim. however, if we bought pogba i wouldn't complain as long as we kept RLC. i do doubt those players would come, but you never know. if allegri comes to chelsea then maybe, just maybe he could bring pogba with him.

I too have always liked Oscar.  I think our machine just ticks better when he is in the squad.  His work rate is something few attack minded mids have these days.

 

With that said, 75m is a hefty fee to say "no" to. For me, he probably is off in the summer and Isco would be my ideal replacement.  Apparently he is a bit unsettled at real.  

Lol, what makes anyone think Oscar would accept a move to China? So they offer us 75 million and then he just packs up and moves? That isn't the way it works. If he doesn't want to go he simply won't sign a contract with them and ruin the whole deal.

You forgot to include Payet in that list, he has goals in him and a big threat when it comes to set piece.

To be fair if we're the only big team that are daft enough to have him as a starter so I don't blame him for loving us.

Oscar is the biggest tease I can remember. Bang average 90% of the time, but then he has those moments of quality that makes you cling to hope that he can string it together in a row of games. You're probably right. I have noticed that whenever Oscar has space to play, he is more deadly and tends to get a goal, but most of the time in the Premier League you get no space to play. Maybe the Premier League isn't the best place for Oscar's skills, i guarantee he would be more consistent in Spain.

He has been a lot better under guus. When he is allowed to attack more he is a lot more effective.
