Van Ginkel to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Definitely. He would fit Conte's style because of his fantastic engine and ability at both ends of the pitch, plus we already own him so that's a bonus.

If we're not going to use him this season then we might as well flog him but he's going to bring in at least £10 million. Most importantly, he's playing football consistently and doing well. Delighted for him.

Anyone think had he not suffered that terrible injury he'd be a regular in the squad by now? Given matic's poor form and the fact mikel was out of favour?

Aghhh, i'm not too up to date with Dutch football. PSV got much money do you know?

More than I do

To be honest, I have no idea how much they have in the bank, but they must be in the top 3 of Dutch clubs money-wise. Plus the club was reasonably successful in the CL last season, that may have been a nice little earner. In general though, transfer fees in the Netherlands are modest.

He injured his knee and will be out til October which means he won't join PSV this year i think

Poor bloke. He always gets injured at pivotal moments, doesn't he.

Sounds like an knee soreness issue more than anything. Does not sound career threatening or overly serious. I guess he wll stay in the club and brought along slowly. I like him but who knows if he will be part of the team. Personally I much rather have him in the plans than Mikel and I believe he could be valuable as he has good composure and experience at the knockout stage Champions League level.

At a very young age I think he had at least 2 major knee injures. Any which way you slice it that is going to affect him, remember Essien, Joe Cole... I have my doubts that Zouma won't be affected.

The prem is fast paced and physical, more so then most leagues. If I was Van Ginkel, id have a look at my career and consider what i want from it. if he stays in Holland or a comparable league, he will get consistent games, probably force his way in to the national team, have a successful career in terms of stats and endeer him self to a top club while probably making a decent amount of money and winning a load of domestic trophy's, while prolonging his career  due to less stress on the knee.

Confirmed on Instagram he won't be joining PSV. Think he'll spend the next few months In rehab/the youth team. Thought he looked really good at Stoke last year but possibly is time to consider his next career move, only he knows how responsive his body is and can be moving forward

not sure why we didn't keep this lad around. i know we need more english players, but i would rather van ginkel over barkley. anybody know if they play similar positions?

Doing well with PSV this season. 12 goals in 21 games. Was made captain as well, despite being on loan.

Surely it's worth giving him a chance instead of wasting money on someone like Ross Barkley?

If we continue with the midfield 3, that would give us a lot of options next season:

Kante, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Fabregas, Van Ginkel, Loftus-Cheek
