Cesc Fabregas

Featured Replies

It's 1/12 on with Skybet. It's not so much those odds that are telling, but the fact that the odds are very high for him going to other clubs. They seem pretty confident that he won't, and were also offering 10/1 for him staying as well.

I'd love for him to sign, a great player and would really wind up Arsenal fans. Just feel a bit for Frank seeing his "nemesis" be one of the replacements for him.

even if he signs, i don't know where all this "nemesis" and "him and mourinho hate each other" etc. I mean people say things all the time in the heat of the moment, but doesn't actually mean that they dislike each other. It's actually good, because it shows no grudges are held between the two parties.

Great, so fabregas is coming to us because Arsenal don't need him.

Aslong as if he does he gives a 110% I don't mind, if he's gonna come and it affects his performances then I'd be miffed. Of course though its all ifs and buts.

I thought I remembered Fabregas reportedly celebrating with our players after we won the league in 2010, so I searched and dug this up:

Doesn't mean much, but I do think that some rivalries like Lamps and Cesc can get overblown.

Wonderful memories, for me that was my favourite title win, we were so exciting to watch.

I suppose for his ability he is one of the best, but could we not have found someone a little younger. Don't get me wrong, 27 isn't old, but it's not young in football terms. Not to mention he's got close ties with another, not just premier league club, but a London club.

A bit of experience is needed with some of the senior players gone. Just turned 27 so his age is perfect. In his prime with bags of experience and a style that isn't heavily reliant on athleticism and pace. 5 good seasons at least, i'd say.

Jose Mourinho has confirmed Chelsea's interest in Cesc Fabregas, but says he won't be signed before the World Cup.

"I am interested in studying the situation of Fabregas. Guess he is eager to leave the Barcelona and motivated to return to England.
Now, if you will sign for Chelsea or another club, this issue is not for today nor tomorrow, nor before the World Cup, "said Mourinho.

So be it.

If it waits until after I don't think we'll be the ones who sign him

That's my worry, remember Petit?

Yeah disappointing that the club aren't rushing it through. Increases the risk of other clubs getting him. I was hoping they could get it done.

Lampard hit his best at the age of 27 and carried that on until he was 33-34. If we can keep hold of Fabregas for 7 years and get the best out of him you won't even be thinking about his age. 7 seasons is a long time and a lot can be achieved in that time.

He's entering his peak years now, i can't think of a better time to have him. Just like with Drogba.

what would be the point in hanging about? Unless Mourinho believes someone big, black and stripy is a viable target.

Maybe Mourinho is just bluffing and the transfer is already done?

Maybe we will, could be Jose playing it down incase the deal isn't completed before the World Cup

Well, I suppose you can never really be sure with Mourinho and his slippery ways, but the more I think about it, the more I think Fabregas at 26m would be the ideal buy and an absolute steal.

Azpi: "Cesc is a great central midfielder with plenty of experience in PL. The best players are always welcome at the best clubs"

In my personal opinion,Cesc is a special player. Few teams have this kind of player in their team, a central midfielder who gets forward really well and has great vision of the game, whilst there’s also his statistics, which speak...for themselves. He can adapt to various positions. Right now, we don’t have a player like Cesc at Chelsea"

Man I think it's done. #Fingerscrossed.

Not overly for or against this.

We need someone to partner Matic in the center of the park. If Fabregas can do that then I'm all-in.

Be funny to watch the Gooners lose their sh*t though.
