even if he signs, i don't know where all this "nemesis" and "him and mourinho hate each other" etc. I mean people say things all the time in the heat of the moment, but doesn't actually mean that they dislike each other. I suppose for his ability he is one of the best, but could we not have found someone a little younger. Don't get me wrong, 27 isn't old, but it's not young in football terms. Not to mention he's got close ties with another, not just premier league club, but a London club. 

A bit of experience is needed with some of the senior players gone. Just turned 27 so his age is perfect. In his prime with bags of experience and a style that isn't heavily reliant on athleticism and pace. 5 good seasons at least, i'd say.

Lampard hit his best at the age of 27 and carried that on until he was 33-34. If we can keep hold of Fabregas for 7 years and get the best out of him you won't even be thinking about his age. 7 seasons is a long time and a lot can be achieved in that time.

 

He's entering his peak years now, i can't think of a better time to have him. Just like with Drogba.

Well, I suppose you can never really be sure with Mourinho and his slippery ways, but the more I think about it, the more I think Fabregas at 26m would be the ideal buy and an absolute steal.
