Willian

Featured Replies

Looks like they're signing Fellaini too, plus I think Cleverley is slowly developing into a very good player. Zaha/Januzaj promising...

Some talk of Ronaldo holding a desire to return also.

:laugh2:

I seen Ross Barkley do more in one game last week against Norwich than i have ever seen Cleverley do.

Amazing signing come on people!

Willian is exactly the type of versatile midfielder we need and brings so much power and pace. It's like we forgot how much of nightmare he was when we come up against him in the CL. He is an already established player so it will be up to others to take his position away from him. KDB,Van Ginkel, Schurrle are all great players but have much to prove. Remember when Essien used to run around and bully the midfield? I see Willian being able to do much the same.

There is no way that Mata is going any where so lets just stop that right now. We have some huge depth in mid at the moment and that can only help our title chances.

Not interested in a 32 years old Eto'o.

Fernandinho plays for Man City.

What the hell? First i read willian is like yaya toure now hes gonna run around and bully the midfield

I seem to have some terrible misconceptions about this player

I mean he looks like hes about matas size. If anyones getting bullied its gonna be Willian

Just checked theyre actually the same height, hes obviously matas replacement

On the one hand, what the f**k are we doing with all these players?

On the other hand, it's a massive signing and i'm extremely excited to see what he can do. I think a lot of people are forgetting what a great player we've just picked up, this could be a major moment in the history of our club!

Same i cant wait to see him play for us,very good player.Still nervous about Mata but im going to wait and see first before i make assumptions.

Pretty frustrated with this signing. Everything was falling into place with us as the board's judgement was going seemingly well--we had a mix of youth and held on to the experience of the older lads. Now things look unbalanced with Willian coming in. Not to mention the ridiculous fees that are being quoted--Anzhi mugged us pretty badly with those figures.

We'll see what happens though. I would hate to see Mata leaving as this Chelsea side have slowly become an embodiment of him.

To be honest i don't think he is as amazing as some are saying. He's 25 years old, he's had pretty much no international experience, and considering that Hulk is probably his main competition in that Brazilian team that is pretty embarrassing. Also, look at the leagues he has played in and his stats in those leagues, it's hardly something to get excited about.

I don't see how he even comes close to £30 million, i would much rather hold on to Moses. For a squad player i see nothing wrong with Moses at all, he's a great player to bring off the bench and he is improving all the time. For goodness sake, the guy is 22 years old and got 10 goals in his first season with the club, did anyone expect that off him when we signed him ? let's not forget how important he was on our run to winning the Europa League.

For me this just has crazy Chelsea signing written all over it again, l just hope i am proven wrong.

KDB,Van Ginkel, Schurrle are all great players but have much to prove.

And how exactly are they going to do that from the bench?

I've got nothing against Willian but this signing is the very definition of superfluous.

This signing still makes very little sense to me. I know its fun to stuff up Spur's plan, but now we will have 50-60 millions worth of talent sitting on the bench. He hasn't got a great scoring record, won't be the answer to our scoring problems. Let's hope we dont do some crazy in the next few days to get rid of Mata. Moses is definitely out after this signing, I fear for the future of Lucas too.

Lucas plays for PSG.

My thoughts exactly. I don't really get this signing.

One player will not keep 3 on the bench.

Mourinho believes in his players and I'm sure all will have an honest go. With as much depth as we have in midfield, I wouldn't be surprised if we see players rotating in and out.

Comparing him to Moses is not really fair for either of them.

Moses is far more direct and relying on pace and shot. From what I've seen Willian has similar tricky feet to Moses but his passing range is superior to Moses but he won't shoot too often and his pace is not as blistering as Moses'.

Moses' 10 goals from last term is really good looking how little he played in the end.

If Moses goes out because of Willian we'll lose directness and pace.

I've seen Willian play twice and he was impressive both occasions, against us.

Those questioning Jose are clearly unaware about his principles about squad cover and rotation.

When he says he wants a 22 man squad what he really means is that he requires cover for every position,

in whatever formation he chooses. He has 'paired' players throughout his career and only fell out with

Chelsea because of centre half cover during his previous spell here.

Cech

Schwarzer

Azpilicueta

Ivanovic

Cole

Bertrand

Luiz

Kalas

Terry

Cahill

Essien

Ramires

Lampard

Marco van Ginkel

Mata

De Bruyne

Schurrle

Hazard

Lukaku

Torres

Willian

Oscar

Eto'o or Rooney becomes the extra striker if 442

So fear not ....

Ba, Mikel and Moses are likely to join Marin and Romeu

through the exit door, unless of course he chooses to

keep Ba in favour of Torres! Or Moses instead of both !!
