Don't rip my head off here it's just an idea, but I'm interested in the thoughts. What if we played hazard as our lone striker have oscar, mata and an interchangeable Willian/shurrle playing behind?

Think schurlle is our best bet as converted striker. Started off as one he's probably happier to convert as well as Germany have a distinct lack of quality strikers. Belgium have 2 very good ones.

I thought the other day Mata could play as a Zola esque striker but the number 10 is probably what Zola would be described as now.

I've always seen Mata when playing at his best as Zola incarnate. I'm strongly of the opinion he should be playing in that role week in week out. But I just imagine seeing Hazards skill set in the role as an out and out striker and it appeals. Shurrle is the obvious choice but he has to be interchangeable to allow for mata hazard and oscar.

Let's spell Schürrle's name correctly for a change, shall we?

Only joking, but no, I don't want this to happen, especially when two of the only players in good form at the minute are our 2 strikers.

I wouldn't mind seeing Schurrle played as a Striker.

We tried playing Schurrle against Utd. not a great success.

I doubt it would work, our team is stupidly unbalanced as it is. Imagine playing Hazard up front as well. Can't wait till Lukaku returns so we don't have this striker issue.

Nah, not for me. I don't think there is anything seriously wrong with our strikers now, they just don't get the service. When they do i think they make the most of it.

That wasn't because of Schurrle playing upfront though,just didn't click as a team in the attacking areas.Our passing was awful in that game.

Why would you suggest that when our strikers are finally playing well? 

I'm not suggesting right now, but i feel Schurrle could be used there in the future maybe instead of buying a new CF in January for example say if Ba leaves and we get an injury to a CF.

Schurrle definitely could play there temporarily but I don't think he has what it takes in terms of finishing, strength or dribbling skill to succeed up front on a regular basis.

I agree our strikers are finally showing some life but the idea was born out of getting mata a starting spot and hazard possibly following in the footsteps of Ronaldo. It's good to see actual opinions coming I tho I expected more of the likes of the comment whining about spelling haha

Yeah, why would you spell his name correctly. It's only one of our own players.

Valerie - I don't think most Brits (me included) know how to use the umlaut on a keyboard - it's not in our vocabulary!  It's not as thought we're using the wrong letters or anything (are we?)

Brit keyboards do have "c"s though, don't they?

Also just if you were wondering, to do a 'ü' you press Alt and key the digits 129 on the numeric keypad at the right of your keyboard

Playing Hazard as a false striker cost RDM his job last time, so I think we'll have to stick with El Nino. Which I'm fine with because his work rate is astonishing.
