January 27, 201511 yr According to bild.de Dortmund are in the mix to get Schürrle. But they wouldn't pay that much, I guess. They'd probably pay something up to 25 Mil. Euros. Asking price for Reus is similar. Swap deal.
January 27, 201511 yr Asking price for Reus is similar. Swap deal. That would be wow-esque. If they actually pulled that off, I'd be I guess we would have to give like 10-20 on top of it, but it'd be still worth it, because Reus' buyout clause won't be active before the summer. January 27, 201511 yr Shame if Schurrle leaves as he's probably the best of of our strength in depth players but, he hasn't ever looked good enough to me to be any more than a squad player. Pity he didn't get more chances through squad rotation as that would've proved one way or the other if he could step up and not be the wasteful and greedy player that he looked when so desperate to impress on the rare occasions he got the chance. Not so sure about Reus though. Is he really that good? I'd much rather have had that Mario Gotze. He's always looked like a player with an end product to me although obviously he not really an option now.
January 27, 201511 yr ... Not so sure about Reus though. Is he really that good? I'd much rather have had that Mario Gotze. He's always looked like a player with an end product to me although obviously he not really an option now. There's no guarantee that Reus would excel in the PL, because of his injury problems and some other things as well. He would need some time probably to adapt. But his potential is immense. So basically if he comes good he'll be another pillar in the Chelsea team who can carry the attack. (He is a bit daft so don't know whether England would be culturally a step too big for him.) Götze is not available, never liked him though so I am not objective when it comes to him.

If they actually pulled that off, I'd be I guess we would have to give like 10-20 on top of it, but it'd be still worth it, because Reus' buyout clause won't be active before the summer. We'd end up paying them some cash as well but wasn't Reus' pricetag close to €30m? If Schurrle is €25m they are not far away.
January 27, 201511 yr We'd end up paying them some cash as well but wasn't Reus' pricetag close to €30m? If Schurrle is €25m they are not far away. Only because of his buyout clause which doesn't come into effect before the summer.Otherwise he'd be definitely a player that Bayern would pay at least 40 Mio €+ and some other foreign club definitely 50+. According to transfermarkt.co.uk he is worth 44 mil. quid. Remember he bagged 33 goals in 69 games for Dortmung and wasn't playing as a striker! But he really had some bad luck with injuries which might allow a certain discount on his price tag.
January 28, 201511 yr Not so sure about Reus though. Is he really that good? He's that good. Forget his physical ability and technical skill, his vision is incredible. Brings his teammates into the play as well as any winger in the world.
January 28, 201511 yr Surprised that this story wasn't posted here yesterday, but maybe it's due to the fact that Wolfsburg has denied interest in purchasing Schurrle. Also BVB are looking at getting Schurrle if they lose Reus.
January 29, 201511 yr There was talk of dortmund buying schurrle. If this happened I reckon it would be great for dortmund as it could help them move up the table. They could play schurrle on the right and reus left, that would be quite an impressive attack, as well as having aubeyang up front.
January 29, 201511 yr He's gonna be needed for Sat as our players are dropping like flies. Let's hope he's on the bench on Sat.
January 29, 201511 yr Gianluca Di Marzio ?@DiMarzio 22s23 seconds ago #Schurrle from @ChelseaFC to @VfL_Wolfsburg: €27M plus bonus Adios.
January 29, 201511 yr If it's true: I really find it a shame. I like the guy and think he can still be a great player for Chelsea. Seems like a done deal though.
January 29, 201511 yr You suspect that Schurrle will return to Germany, play regularly and score frequently and look every bit the player we pursued for two years before signing him. Whatever this mystery illness was it seems to have knocked him out of his stride and I suspect both Andre and Chelsea feel a move back to Germany is best. It's a shame, he looks the sort of player who could have made a real impact at Chelsea but sadly they don't always work out. Wish the boy all the best for the rest of his career.
January 29, 201511 yr Seems this sale is funding Cuadrado, only time will tell if this was the right decision. I fully expect Schurrle to go to Germany and play well, that wont be enough evidence for me though that selling him was a mistake
January 29, 201511 yr I don't think it was a mystery illness, but maybe he was genuinely homesick and wasn't doing as well in this league as he thought he would. Sometimes I think players may think coming to a big league means improving themselves and somewhat "making it" but then they don't find the form they did in their previous country and lose confidence. January 29, 201511 yr Just another case of German player with no friends in the team. Sounds silly in this day and age but you need your buddies to enjoy life..
January 29, 201511 yr Schurrle will play more, improve his all around play and score more in germany, that is pretty much guaranteed. However, just like KDB, i've seen enough to know that although he might be good enough to be a starter, he is never going to be a world great, he's never going to be an untouchable or a first name on the teamsheet. Happy to have him as a squad player but don't see him improving as much as others think he will and personally feel Chelsea should be aiming higher in terms of first Xl players. If he does go, i wish him well and appreciate all the effort and great moments he gave us.
January 29, 201511 yr I still think this is one thing we will regret, however if he wants to go and he has been like this for some time then fair enough. He really had an eye for goal, brilliant movement, however his performances didn't warrant a great set of game time this season. Still though from what I've seen I think he would have been a great asset to the side, shame.
January 29, 201511 yr Has gone backwards this season, after impressing so much at the World Cup. Is a shame but can understand why both him and the club are looking to part ways.
