January 31, 201412 yr Don't know much about him to be honest. I am sure he is quality. I will reserve judgement until I see him suit up for us. I trust in the clubs choices and reading your comments. Welcome to Chelsea Football Club, The Pride of London.
January 31, 201412 yr Great news. The only disappointment for me is that Tottenham didn't nearly sign him.
January 31, 201412 yr If JT stays he wil be forced to take a big cut in pay and a 1 year extension only. His old man would love to see John in claret & blue so he could go for a longer deal with the pikeys. Just specualtion, and as for Kalas, Omerou etc. if you want to get in Jose's team you basically got to be able to get into City's. Its obvious that this is the mission, integrate new young talent into a winning unit that can overcome Man City, then it follows the Gooners, dippers, scum utd, spuds etc will be overcome to boot.
January 31, 201412 yr http://outsideoftheboot.com/2013/05/02/kurt-zouma-scout-report/ Never seen him play but reports like the one above suggest he has very high potential. Can't help but think that Luiz will be another FFP casualty, with Bayern or Barcelona as his destination. Can see us getting £35million or so for him, which would be good money to reinvest into signing Luke Shaw and Diego Costa along with other funds from elsewhere. Must admit I have a soft spot for Luiz and would love for it to work out here for him, preferably in Midfield! Edited January 31, 201412 yr by Celery1989
January 31, 201412 yr I refuse to believe that none of our 18 and 19 years old players none are not on same level of development and skill as Januzaj. If he can make an impact than one of our yougsters can also, just need some courage from management.

Baker got 2 minutes against Derby. Doubt he'll see any more minutes this season and to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if Zouma was loaned about for a couple of seasons and then ultimately sold for profit. It's understandable that we need to make our money somewhere, but I don't like how we're going about it. Perhaps in time, Mourinho will give our youngsters a chance so we can become more self sufficient.
January 31, 201412 yr I would like maybe just one January window to say "No more transfers ,just recall any of the loaned players".Just see how it goes.
January 31, 201412 yr Unfortunately, I've seen little to suggest that Mourinho will give any of our youngsters a chance. As far as this season goes, yes. It's very difficult to take a team in transition, keep them at the top and give significant time to youngsters. It's easier when you're mid-low table or very dominant in your league. Right now we need our best team out there more often than not, especially with title hopes very much alive. Next season should be when we can expect to see improvement in this area.

January 31, 201412 yr We giving up on Zouma already? Come on, he's signed to be used. Terry only has a few seasons left and Luiz will be going. This boy is the real deal
January 31, 201412 yr I'm fed up of getting excited over young prospects. Expect him to be loaned out, then never heard or seen from again.
January 31, 201412 yr Because I think Luiz will be sold Only if there is replacement, and a 19-year old old who hasn't played in the Premier League will not cause that sale. It would need more than that or a more experienced, slightly older player.
January 31, 201412 yr Good signing. He's already on the fringes of the French squad at 19. If Luiz or JT are off in the summer I'd expect him to come in to the first team squad.
January 31, 201412 yr Jose already suggested in today's press conference that he might go on loan next season, personally I dont see JT or Luiz leaving.
January 31, 201412 yr I know he was strongly linked with City but I wonder how a CB pairing of Zouma and Mangala would do for us. Edited January 31, 201412 yr by axman2526
February 1, 201412 yr That comment just doesn't make sense... I suppose I am to deduce your reasoning from the very clever use of ellipses?
February 1, 201412 yr Jose already suggested in today's press conference that he might go on loan next season, personally I dont see JT or Luiz leaving. I personally don't think we've quite given up on Omeruo and Kalas yet either (although Omeruo might be a bit small for a PL defender) I'm not sure about Luiz, I think (rightly or wrongly) he might well go in the summer depending on what happens with JT's contract situation. Perhaps that might mean we sign Shaw which allows Azpilicueta to play more on the right and Ivanovic more in the middle (which you would expect as he gets older and can no longer get up and down the pitch at right back for 50 games a season) Then when JT does retire Zouma returns from loan and replaces Terry in the rotation. A lot of assumptions in that statement naturally.
