May 25, 20179 yr Any ideas where he's off to this summer? Will we be selling him, or will it be a free transfer?

May 25, 20179 yr There's talk of him going to Celtic, with maybe Kieran Tierney coming the other way... http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours-news/2017/5/10/15592150/celtic-dominic-solanke-kieran-tierney-chelsea-fc-transfer-rumour-report-update

Celtic (who value Tierney at 17m) would essentially make a profit and get Solanke for free Edited May 25, 20179 yr by the special one

I'm all for Tierney signing here, I think he'd be good to spell Alonso or play when we need to be less active going forward. Plus when he makes it big there's another player Wenger can add to the 'I tried to sign him' list.

I'm all for us signing a few British players, i think it's important to have a few of them in the team. If he'd be okay being Alonso's backup, i think it would be a good signing, especially if the figure is under £15m.
May 25, 20179 yr Can see Solanke tearing up the scottish league (not hard) may aswell get a young british prospect in return as cover for Alonso In Tierney
May 26, 20179 yr Would still love Solanke to stay but Abraham, Brown and maybe Ugbo have all moved ahead... reckon this could all balance on if someone comes in for Moussa Dembele... another one of those transfers that could be sparked if Lukaku moves for example .. roundabout of top strikers ...
May 30, 20179 yr Solanke has agreed a deal with Liverpool. Better than him going to Celtic, at least we get about £8mil for him now.

May 30, 20179 yr Just seen he'll be playing for their U-23 team and featuring in cup matches for the murderers. Is that really much better than what he'd get if he'd signed a contract at Chelsea last year? I think he must know Tammy is ahead of him and he had no chance here.

Klopp is also more likely to play him in the league.
May 30, 20179 yr Good move for Solanke and wish him all the best, though I may not agree with his decision if he feels he's doing what's best for his career then good luck to him. Sadly by opting to sign for a rival it's unlikely we'll welcome him back with open arms if/when he plays at the Bridge. As a way to show our appreciation for Solanke my hope is we'll sign Jann-Fiete Arp and fast track him into the first team. Edited May 30, 20179 yr by the special one
May 30, 20179 yr Another example of our talent going elsewhere and blossom....shame it can't happen here more often....kids have very little chance of making the first team on a regular basis..

When has an academy player come back to haunt us? The closest has been Jack Cork. Solanke certainly won't buck that trend, he's crap. Edited May 30, 20179 yr by Argo

While I agree it's a shame we don't play the kids the club has an impeccable record of making the right decisions without compromising the first team's performance. Personally my only criticism of the academy isn't that we don't play the kids, but that we're producing too many lower table PL/Championship quality kids capable of helping us compete for a top 4 place. Hopefully Tammy, Mason Mount, Billy Gilmour, Dujon Sterling and Callum Hudson-Odoi will break the mould. Edited May 30, 20179 yr by the special one

Bit to soon to say he'll blossom when he hasn't even kicked a ball or officially signed for them yet...
May 30, 20179 yr He has scored 3 goals from open play in 30 games in a league that is known for crap defending and even worse goalkeeping. He's not going to amount to anything at Liverpool and will be in League one within two years.
May 30, 20179 yr I'd be shocked if this came back to haunt us. I can understand him wanting to leave, not sure why he didn't decide to go to a club where he would be in with a chance of starting regularly. He is in the same boat at Liverpool imo. They also have youth players with high potential, so I don't see him pushing into the 1st team barring a spate of injuries. good luck to him, I think it will turn out more frank nouble than lukaku.
