The Brit Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Lots of positive noises from Jose about him and lofts cheek....really starting to believe he's more committed than ever to bringing youth players through
The Brit Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Although he never talks about Bamford in the same way...not sure he is looking at him as a genuine contender for the squad or not
Scott Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Lots of positive noises from Jose about him and lofts cheek....really starting to believe he's more committed than ever to bringing youth players through You mean this? ‘Ruben is a great example. He was never on loan. He was just working and waiting and now he knows next season he is a first team player.’
The Brit Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Yeah and it's not the first time he's said it about Ruben, so is clearly not saying it for effect...that's why I'm a bit worried for Bamford...not once has he said he will be part if things, all he has said is he should concentrate on getting promoted with boro...and if he sees solanke as filling young striker slot, there is no room for him as well Droogba 1
Zeta Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Loftus-Cheek, Brown and a couple of others have been "first team players" this season though, training with the first team, on the bench a number of times and given squad numbers, doesn't mean they've played any games. Whilst I would like to believe Jose, I'll believe it when I see it.
Zeta Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Although he never talks about Bamford in the same way...not sure he is looking at him as a genuine contender for the squad or not http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/438062/Jose-Mourinho-My-message-to-Patrick-Bamford That's all he's said about him recently I think. Not exactly filling me with optimism.
DidierDrogbalala Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 (edited) 3 goals and an assist against liverpool today he has 40 goals this year btw.. Edited May 7, 2015 by DidierDrogbalala
ForeverCarefree Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 3 goals against liverpool today 41 goals for the season.
Blue Daze Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 3rd striker next season please Jose. Beerqueen, the special one and bluelion111 3
BlueAardvarkrule Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 reminds me of a young Peter Osgood..............
Jonty Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 How is Solanke's 41 goals broken down? Because according to the U21 PL website he only has 10 in that competition which makes him =4th in the league. http://www.transfermarkt.com/u21-premier-league/startseite/wettbewerb/GB21 In that context it doesn't look quite as impressive.

charierre Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 reminds me of a young Peter Osgood.............. Me too, let hope he fulfills his promise.

At youth level, Solanke continued to score at a prolific rate scoring 15 goals in 16 games before Christmas and finishing as top scorer in the group stages of the UEFA Youth League after a hat trick in the final group stage match against Sporting CP.[8][9] On 10 April 2015, Solanke scored a brace in the semifinal of the 2014–15 UEFA Youth League against A.S. Roma to send Chelsea into the final.[10] Solanke scored again against Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Youth league final ending the tournament with 12 goals in 9 games as Chelsea won the title.[11] On 20 April, Solanke scored a late goal to give his side a 3-1 win in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup final against Manchester City.[12] With this goal, Solanke reached the 35-goal mark this season.[13] On 7 May, Solanke reached 41 goals for the season after scoring a hat-trick in a 4-3 victory over Liverpool U21.[14]
dan_cfc Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 He is prolific one thing doing it at youth level though needs first team experience.

mad_mac Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Would be great to see him get a start in one of the last 2 games. Jose hinted he may just get it on Monday
salfordcarl Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Just read on Twitter Doms gone out on loan. Shame I thought he may get a bit of a chance this season
charierre Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 To Vitesse by the looks of it. I would think whoever does the best on loan between Solanke and Bamford could find himself in the first team squad next season. Good luck to both, let the battle commence. My money would be on Solanke breaking through of the two. MissouriBlue, PedroMendez, dan_cfc and 1 other 4

If you are right [in all respects] he's got at least another two seasons of this loanee business to look forward to... just to catch him up - and it wont matter how well he plays either.
PloKoon13 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 He's only 17 to be fair, if he gets regular playing time it will be well worth it. PedroMendez, Jezz and the special one 3
