Paul Pogba - Needs to Sign!

Featured Replies

Have I missed something?

dont worry, its just me being a facetious arsehole. as is my want.

i got hung out to dry the other day for being a killjoy when i stated that there was zero chance of us signing either stones or pogba.

got my tin hat on ready for the incoming verbal.

dont worry chief. its not you, its me.

Yeah signing 3 times Champions League winner Pedro.

What a load of sh*t.

f**k you FC

dont you know pedro is sh*t!?

sometimes i wonder.

go stand in the corner and hang your head in shame.

Looks like were not getting either Stones or Pogba, what a pathetic transfer window.

I wouldn't say pathetic, i think the arrival of Pedro sorts out one of our problem areas. The only other position we really needed to sort out was the CM position.

I think a fast central defender is just as much needed as a central midfielder (box to box). We are unable to play a high defensive line with Terry and Cahill, having a slow Ivanovic on the RB makes it even worse.

I'm very happy we signed Pedro though, I was hoping for that transfer after it became clear we wouldn't get Griezmann earlier this summer.

Even if we had quick CB's i wouldn't want us to play a high defensive line anyway, i think it's far too risky. I haven't seen many clubs benefit by playing a high defensive line, more often than not this tactic backfires.

All the top teams play with a highline... watch barcelona, bayern and real, they all have their centre backs on the half way line, they press lower opposition to a point where they cannot successfully break.

Could be relevant that Juventus are in negotiations for Draxler:

@DiMarzio: #Juventus, si continua a cercare l'accordo con lo #Schalke per #Draxler: le ultime http://t.co/Reja6vxfY2

Or they might just buy all the decent midfielders on the market and still not sell us Pogba. Leaving us just holding our dick in our hands - as Sonny Corleone would say.

And Witsel.

They've already spent about the same this window as their last 3 seasons combined...

Having the best attacking players will give you confidence to play with a high line though. All 3 of those teams can afford to concede goals in their league because a) they have no competition and b) because they have the attacking players to get them out of trouble. If we go down 2-0 it's very unlikely that we would win a game, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern have the attacking players to get them out of that kind of mess.

The chances of us getting Verratti are literally ten times lower than getting Pogba. PSG will keep players hostage as long as their contract is with them.

I remember reading Verratti would only go to Barcelona and that would be a perfect fit after Iniesta leaves.

I think this transfer window is done and dusted.  Even though we brought in some good talent we had a totally assbackwards way of handling negotiations this summer.  It was only until AFTER our players left or after we started our season completely s**tty that we made moves.  We knew our competition got better so we needed to be proactive with our transfers and we just didn't do that.  Then we had to "scramble" to sign players in order to continue competing for the title.

I can't see Busquets getting dropped for Veratti. He's gonna be a linchpin in barca's midfield until 2021.

At this point he isn't worth that at all. The piss is being taken due to, well, I don't know what actually. He has achieved almost zilch in his career and is not going to take us to the next level, at least not the highest level. He is yet to prove he is anywhere near the quality of messi, ronaldo, suarez, neymar, even bale etc who all went for similar fees. He is not a profllific goal scorer unlike the others and this means a lot.

If there were a player that could take us to the next level how much would you spend on them?
