Looking at this Barca defense I think it says more about the low standard of La Liga.

Low standard? Spanish teams won both the champions league and Europa last season.

Liverpool finished second last season with an abysmal defence.

The standard in La Liga is no worse than what it is in the Premiership. The top teams are better in spain, but the bottom teams are probably worse. Then Mid table is pretty similar across the board.

One may look at Barca as a team of offensive players, but questionable defense. Similar to Manure. Currently, Real is almost unbeatable, I would add. As for Liverpool, Dracula was their key player. Without him, Liverpool's going nowhere.

We're gonna win the league, this doesn't slip and we go again.

Sonic, I am frankly dismayed at your Liverpudlian quotes there.....I'm guessing ( hoping ) it was sarcasm at it worst ;-)

I must be the only one actually encouraged after that game.

At this stage of the season, it's more about performances than results for me, and today's second half performance was probably the only time we've been even half-decent since Spurs away.  If Brendan learns from this, and I think he will, we'll see 2 up front for a while, at the very least until Sturridge returns.  He can't help but have noticed the difference between Balotelli on his own and when we went with a diamond with Coutinho involved.  I don't think he'll make the same mistake again - he's not as stubborn as people on here make out.

I thought the performance stepped up massively from when the changes were made. Couts was excellent, but what worries me is that the majority of us can clearly see that Balotelli cannot play the lone forward role, and yet here we were again. When lambert came on, balotelli moved out a bit and instantly became more effective. Was also quite impressed with Can. Seems to have settled in quite quickly.

We also seem intent on playing out from the back every time, and putting ourselves under almost instant pressure. Can't work it out at all.

f**k ME

Sunderland you are absolutely f**king useless.

Absolutely GIFTED the game to arsenal. Don't see how they would win it otherwise!!!!

Liverpool were like so many of us said they were....one season wonders

Bang average side now, get it right up you ya scouse rodents

If one of Neil Warnock's teams fail to win a match (whether it is Sheffield United, QPR, Leeds, Palace) you can guarantee he will try and have a go at the officials. He is a bully. Apparently last weekend after we beat them he discouraged his players from shaking hands with the ref because the ref didn't book JT

Utter scum of a manager.

Arsenal should have an asterix put next to that win...hardly did anything to achieve it given both goals set up by woeful Sunderland errors

Seems the only way arsenal can get a win these days is by being gifted one by the opposition. I think wenger must be giving out back handers.

Wasn't it fortunate that they just so happened to have preprinted shirts in the right sizes for the stooges/masses of fans that were taking up this publicity stunt. Serves them right. It's a pretty ridiculous sight seeing a grown man in a replica shirt anyway. Without wishing to offend anyone, it would have been better if the preprint had said "I'm a knob". But we'd have known that anyway.

Lee Clark (Birmingham manager) has been sacked

Im too young to have seen him as a player but I know he played for Fulham

Also know he caused controversy between Sunderland and Newcastle as he is from the area and played for both. Was he any good? Hes irritated me in the interviews etc. i have seen

Am I the only one who would love it if the season ended today? Not only because we would win the league but because Southampton and West Ham are in the top 4. Usually by this time, the usual suspects have carved out a position ahead of the rest of the chasing pack but this year has been completely different. I love to see some new sides challenging for European places and it has been a joy to watch the Saints and the Hammers this year. I hope I speak for all Shed Enders when I say having Southampton and West Ham get Champions League places is better than ManU, Arsenal and Liverpool any day! Still a long season to go but come on you Saints/Irons!

Eh? You do realise that Chelsea and West Ham share somewhat of a rivalry? Southampton I couldn't give two s***s about but West Ham? The whelk munching East End pikeys f***ing hate Chelsea.

Spoilsport!

This is comical.

If Liverpool lowered their tickets to a price that those fans found acceptable, then they'd be left working with even lower calibre players.

Why is this laughable? They're spot on and good on them for making their feelings known. Of course the best way to protest would be to not go at all...but then if they did that a Japanese tourist or a grinning woman with an iPad would just buy the ticket instead.
