November 27, 201411 yr This has to be the weirdest pitch invasion i've ever seen, wtf are they doing? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/basel-v-real-madrid-featured-4702786 Hahaha he's like: it's ok, I'm a reporter. Also Arteta got injured and might be out for a while according to Wenger, they seriously need a whole new medical team.
November 27, 201411 yr Lol dkw Another thing, Someone on ragcafe said that Liverpool tried to running the ball to the corner flag at around the 84,85th minute, Is that true? yes
November 27, 201411 yr Interesting scenario if all the English clubs were to finish runner up. We'd have a 25% chance of drawing Barca as it stands, with Zenit, Shaktar and Juventus being the others we could draw. I reckon Barca will beat PSG in the last match to claim top spot. We could have sideshow back at the bridge
November 27, 201411 yr I reckon Barca will beat PSG in the last match to claim top spot. We could have sideshow back at the bridge Oh boy, that'll be fun. I hope we still have Pete, and we can put him in goal. It'll be hard for Messi to play whilst he's

It takes 'football tourism' to a whole new level. The selfie sticks from the seats are no longer good enough apparently, they now have to get on the pitch, back packs and all.
November 27, 201411 yr With how cr*p Liverpool and city have been in the CL thus season it is ridiculous to see they are both on the verge of qqualification to the next stage.
November 27, 201411 yr Lol I love seeing Liverpool suffer. Against f**king Lugodorets. They truly are sh*t. Shouldn't be forgotten that but for a goalkeeper fcuk up in last minute at Anfield, lugodorets would have drawn at Anfield too
November 27, 201411 yr With how cr*p Liverpool and city have been in the CL thus season it is ridiculous to see they are both on the verge of qqualification to the next stage. And if they do, our draw in last 16 could be a toughie...as things stand, the runners up we'd face would be juve, shakhtar, barca or Monaco!!!
November 27, 201411 yr Liverpool are so sh*t! That team is going nowhere under Brendan and I'm loving it. Arsenal only won because Dortmund isn't the same side they have been in the past few years under Klopp as their decline is concerning to say the least. What on earth were those pitch invaders doing between Basel and Real Madrid? It almost looked like they'd innocently taken a wrong turn and then they decided to start filming
November 27, 201411 yr Shouldn't be forgotten that but for a goalkeeper fcuk up in last minute at Anfield, lugodorets would have drawn at Anfield tooYea, then they would have exactly 2 points. Oh well. Either way, them Arsenal, and City are going to get f**ked in the 2nd round, assuming City makes it. I would like to draw Monaco, for revenge and stuff. Arsenal and City will probably draw Real and Bayern lol. Knowing Liverpool, they may get Leverkusen, assuming they make it.

November 27, 201411 yr Out of those listed the only one I don't want to face is Juventus, very solid at the back and you just know Tevez will score at least 1 against us. Edited November 27, 201411 yr by Jonty
November 27, 201411 yr Juve still could quite possibly not make it out. If Olympiakos win against Malmo and Juve lose to Athletico then they are gone. Possible but not probable. Would anybody else sort of want Arsenal to win the group to decrease our chances of playing PSG/Barca or Juve/Athletico?
November 27, 201411 yr Don't care who we get in the next round. Gonna have to beat top teams to win it anyway. If we go into the games with the same form we have now, I think we will beat any team we could possibly face in the last 16.

Considering how dominant they are in their domestic league they don't seem to be able to adjust to higher quality of opponent perhaps?
November 27, 201411 yr I think that just goes to show how poor the Italian league really is now days.
November 27, 201411 yr Haven't Juventus been quite poor in Europe for a few seasons now? Considering how dominant they are in their domestic league they don't seem to be able to adjust to higher quality of opponent perhaps? Aside from when they knocked us out of the CL in 2013 then?

If we go into the games with the same form we have now, I think we will beat any team we could possibly face in the last 16. Have to disagree to be honest. It's better to get nice draws and let other big teams knock each other out. Look at the FA Cup. Two years in a row we've gotten City only for them to lose to Wigan in the next round. When we got to the champions league final in 2008 we had such an easy draw. I agree we would probably beat most teams over 2 legs right now but I would rather play Monaco.
November 27, 201411 yr Aside from when they knocked us out of the CL in 2013 then? But they didn't knock us out, they finished top of the group and we went out on goal difference or head to heads. They got Celtic in the last 16 and then lost to Bayern in quarter finals. They failed to get out of their group last season and are struggling again this year despite what on paper looked a easy group for them.

Well we got 1 point out of a possible 6 against them so essentially yes they prevented us from progressing. I just think they're the exact sort of team we wouldn't want to play.

Athletico Madrid are Spanish Champions, have probably one of the top 5 coaches in the world and were a minute away from winning the champions league. Olympiakos are awful away but are a really strong side at home. Every team seems to struggle there. They are probably matching expectations so far. Last year they ballsed it up, but Drogba was unplayable in their deciding game against Galatasary. I think though them and Athletico are exactly the sort of teams we would hate to face. I would rather have Barca or PSG. Edited November 27, 201411 yr by mactheknife
November 27, 201411 yr Maybe I am being too harsh on Juve but when you look at their record in Serie A for the last few years their European form doesn't even come close.

Just hope they can play well enough to make it too the Europa League, do not want them sitting at home with their feet up, when they can be out playing on a Thursday night.
