March 1, 201511 yr Nope lol Haha it had the opposite effect I was hoping for wanted Everton to score not for Arsena to ge a second
March 1, 201511 yr City have Barcelona at home then Liverpool away. They'll lose both matches I think. Looks like I was right.
March 1, 201511 yr So City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham lose in Europe. Then City lose in the league and we win the League Cup..............after all that has been going on for the last 2 weeks it's great to have such a great week.
March 1, 201511 yr Made me laugh :) Could only be made better should he be wearing an air hostess uniform.
March 1, 201511 yr Dare I say it, but thanks Liverpool, right, now I'm going to wash my mouth out with soap and water...feel unclean
March 2, 201511 yr Dare I say it, but thanks Liverpool, right, now I'm going to wash my mouth out with soap and water...feel unclean You think that's bad, I sqealed with then scored. Not cheered, not fist pump, not a little 'get in'... but a girly little excited squeal. Foreshame.
March 2, 201511 yr I unashamedly backed Liverpool yesterday and they came through. Tried watching the match on SkyGo on the train up but it cut out at 1-1 and then couldn't check the scores until the train got to around Baker Street. Set me up perfectly for the final and gave a proper 'get in' on the carriage. Made being surrounded by Spurs supporters on the platform hilariously singing 'we're not racist, and that's the way we like it' (get it?) more bearable. Still have to play the scousers so could be a tough match.
March 2, 201511 yr Don't understand this Coutinho hype. People say Oscar doesn't score enough, create enough and is inconsistent yet they would have Coutinho over him? Coutinho this season has 5 goals and 4 assists in all competitions and is one of the most inconsistent players in the League He's been very average most of the season
March 2, 201511 yr Made being surrounded by Spurs supporters on the platform hilariously singing 'we're not racist, and that's the way we like it' (get it?) more bearable. Agree that this is entirely unfunny. I am very disappointed in other football fans, after this racism business there was a huge opportunity for some excellent banter aimed at us and they have all failed spectacularly. I think people don't understand that eschewing humour for acting self-righteous about a sin which is only committed by a tiny minority of people is pointless (and extremely unfunny), they're just preaching to the choir.

The problem is that song is EXACTLY the same as the 'naughty' one, except for one word which doesn't actually fit the rhythm so is very easily missed....ergo it sounds indistinguishable from the one sung in Paris. Bravo. Anyway West Ham one the banter-off which the youtube clip.
March 2, 201511 yr meanwhile...FA rescinded wes brown red card http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/31683163
March 2, 201511 yr meanwhile...FA rescinded wes brown red card http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/31683163 Was inevitable. If he had sent of O'Shea for the original foul on Falcao and not for the perceived 2nd foul by Brown then the card would have stood. For whatever reason the ref over thought the situation and just ended up making a bit of a mess of it all. But for the second week running officiating incompetence was a major taking point of the weekend's football and behind closed doors at least it must be a major concern for the FA/Premier League.
March 2, 201511 yr meanwhile...FA rescinded wes brown red card http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/31683163 As I posted in the Matic appeal thread, this is shocking inconsistency from the FA. If a ref sees something and doesn't think it's a red (for example, a shin-high leg-breaking challenge by, say a Burnley player on, for the sake of argument, a Chelsea player), the FA can do nothing. They can't intervene 'because the ref saw it at the time'. If the ref sees something and thinks it WAS a red, the FA CAN intervene and overturn it, even though the ref saw it at the time. Re-refereeing is not allowed. Except when it is allowed.

But for the second week running officiating incompetence was a major taking point of the weekend's football and behind closed doors at least it must be a major concern for the FA/Premier League. With the millions of pounds invested in football whether it be by sponsors, obtaining the television rights, funding player's wages etc the FA simply cannot continue to have the game officiated with such appalling standards. The inability or sheer stubbornness not to correct obvious errors with such high financial stakes is madness. The Matic situation is a prime example – where is the discretion? Not only could his leg have been snapped in half by a cowardly challenge but his reaction was ridiculously timid, a shove? I’d have gone for his f*cking neck. And that’s just retrospective action, in game decisions are also worryingly inconsistent. I know people are against technology and I can completely understand why, especially as I’m against the American Football stop/start borefest too, but that’s irrelevant, the technology doesn’t need to be in place - the standards of officials just need to be better. Also perhaps more consultations with the 4th official who has sight of a TV monitor, a quick chat would clarify a situation quick fast surely? Not needed for every decision and I’m sure it has it’s flaws but a referee with the pace of the game needs more assistance as well as better training. Retrospective action on diving and holding your face when a player brushes your nose needs to be brought in too. Personally I’d give… a season ban and dock... 7 years wages.

Re-refereeing is not allowed. Except when it is allowed. Yup it's completely arse backwards. Barnes couldn't face retrospective action because the ref allegedly saw it (but clearly not well enough or he would surely have issued a red card) and you effectively can't appeal for the incident to be looked at again. However if a red card is issued, the incident can be re-refereed as part of an appeal. The system itself is full of inconsistencies.
March 2, 201511 yr Was it an off the ball incident? Nope. Referee saw the incident? Check. Referee dealt with the incident as he saw fit? Check. But who cares, we'll re-referee it and rescind the card anyway.
March 2, 201511 yr A 27-year-old man was arrested earlier today on suspicion of sexual activity with a girl under 16 believed to be a professional footballer.
March 2, 201511 yr The funny thing is they can rescind the red, but they won't give it to the right player. Like when Gibbs got the red card off him, but then they didn't ban chamberlain. So both get off scot free, unlike us who the guy on the end of a sh*t tackle keeps his red card. Edited March 2, 201511 yr by Stim
