It's one of those situations like Redknapp at QPR or Lambert at Villa where, for some reason, things stopped working. Sometimes a change of manager seems like the only option.

I don't know what Poyet is like as a manager but his sense of frustration at Sunderland's performances must be huge.

Martin Atkinson was the ref for the Southampton v Crystal Palace game and a Crystal Palace player ran up to a Southampton player and bumped him to the ground to get the ball back, very much like what Matic did....................he only gave a booking. Where is the consistency?

In all seriousness though, I didn't see the tackle but I wish him a speedy recovery!

Martin Atkinson was the ref for the Southampton v Crystal Palace game and a Crystal Palace player ran up to a Southampton player and bumped him to the ground to get the ball back, very much like what Matic did....................he only gave a booking. Where is the consistency?

Atkinson doesn't know what he's doing. He often tried to play advantage instead of blowing for every foul but when there was no advantage he did nothing. I saw the incident you mention. It deserved a yellow as did Matic.

Aston Villa 1-0 West Brom, and Hull 1-0 Sunderland so far.

 

I hope Villa win actually, I want the relegation battle to become more interesting.

 

You got your wish - so qpha & burnley seem to be going down - I still think LC can pull through

QPR, Burnley and Villa down would do me nicely. The first two for obvious reasons, the third because we always have a tough time at Villa park while City always seem to come unstuck at Sunderland.

Pinocchio says he wants Harry Kane not to play for the England under 21s this summer.

Player development is doomed when we don't allow youth players to gain tournament experience, happens everytime.

The likes of Spain and Germany will have their best youth players there but somehow we always think our youth players are above it.

QPR, Burnley and Villa down would do me nicely. The first two for obvious reasons, the third because we always have a tough time at Villa park while City always seem to come unstuck at Sunderland.

Yeah he should go I think this kind of thing has only helps in our youngsters not developing properly. Heck look back when Bentley wouldn't go bet he regrets that along with many of his other career decisions he made.

Those celebrations from Sherwood last night were utter cringe.

The checking his pulse one to the crowd multiple times was laughable.

Looking forward to them going down with Burnley.

All this heart on sleeve crap is not what makes a good manager...you should be in control of your emotions for majority of the time, not shooting your mouth off and acting like 'one of the fans' most of the time....whether he keeps villa up this season or not, I can see his act wearing very thin with the players pretty quickly
