Leicester held out for 45 mins, not bad. Longer than anyone expected.

I saw on the half-time report that they had some decent chances, but were made to pay for not converting them

If it keeps happening somethings clearly not right is it? Hope he's OK.

I can't believe that Swansea signed him when he has already fainted 3 times before today.

Disgusting incident of spitting between Evans and cisse tonight...not surprised evans was involved...nasty untalented little sh*t...amazed he's at Utd...strikes me as Aston villa, west brom standard every time I see him play...and Utd get sponny again to win the game...never seen such a jammy side

Proper horrible little c**t is Jonny Evans, genuinely nasty player.

The goal they scored just ridiculous, Krul and the defence were an embarrassment to the game.

I think Krul is largely blameless in that one and it's the ridiculous pass back from his defender that causes it all. Rooney deserves a bit of credit for pressuring them but I think it's just United's luck at the moment that they can play turgid sh*t, get a clear penalty against them not given and then have it handed to them.

Watching Ashley Young celebrate like that is incredibly irksome until you remember that a bird sh*t in his mouth and that's all he'll be remembered for, except for diving.

It's amazing where United are considering they have been playing utter crap for months.

I think it says a lot for how poor and inconsistent the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham have been that they haven't taken advantage of this United side playing so poorly.

Southampton won't get top 4 but would love for them to get into the Europa League, not that the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal should scoff at the EL now the winners automatically qualify for the CL. But I'd much rather Man Utd qualify and one the former two miss out.

Also, what's happened to Everton? Apart from their game against us they've been pretty well beaten recently it seems... Eggs in one basket with Lakaku?

The influence of Moyes has worn off. Poor at United but kept Everton afloat and Martinez hasn't been able to do the same.

One win in their last ten games is shocking.

The purse strings have been a lot looser for Martinez than they ever were for Moyes but he's taken them backwards.

He's been allowed to drop £28m on Lukaku whose form has been patchy, bought in Eto'o on god knows what wages only for things to turn sour and him leave within 6 months.

He's bought in what four wingers in two seasons? And yet he's not added to or improved the defense.

Moyes built a good foundation at that club and Martinez rode on the coat tails of that last season... Personally I don't rate Martinez that highly, he narrowly missed out on relegation with Wigan more than once and that was down to luck and not good management in my opinion.

Meanwhile and I know he isn't thought too highly of by many, once again Mark Hughes is doing a solid job. He did well at Blackburn and Fulham and he's doing a solid job again at Stoke

Hughes like fat Sam is one of the more stable of manager in the league.

You know what you will get with them and that is a mid table finish usually and not a relegation scrap.

Martinez has done very poorly, especially considering how relatively strong Everton's squad is this season. With the quality of player at his disposal they really should be challenging for a European spot, not two points behind a pretty awful West Brom squad. They are doing well in the Europa League, but there is a long way to go with Roma, Zenit, Wolfsburg, Inter, Ajax, Sevilla and Napoli still in the competition. Or maybe Everton's collective soul has been crushed with the absence of Leon Osman and the potential prospect of his injury being a career-ender.

I think a lot of it is down to his style; Everton's strongest XI is probably far better suited to playing more directly than relying entirely on a possession-based game; they beat a very talented Wolfsburg side home and away with 49% and 40% possession and beat Palace away with 46% possession. Playing too high up the pitch means that Barry and McCarthy have to cover far too much ground, and leaves Distin/Stones (who aren't exactly paceless) and Jagielka far too exposed, particularly with the amount of attacking responsibility their full-backs have. I don't think Martinez is a bad manager, but he has been naïve and I think they need someone better suited to the squad. Moyes was ideal really, a good man-manager with a strong sense of discipline who was tactically practical without necessarily sacrificing the quality of football.

Martinez can definitely do a job elsewhere though, even with a team challenging for Europe, I just don't think it's with Everton.

Having said all that Martinez seems to know how to galvanise his sides for Cup games and in the Europa league they could easily book a quarter final place by beating Dynamo Kiev, If they win the Europa League all of a sudden the scousers will be calling him 'God' and it will have been Everton's best season in donkey years.

I may be in the minority but I think they'll come good again next season (providing they stay up). I seem to remember Moyes having a good first season before nearly getting relegated the next.

You're correct.

Moyes' first full season in charge in 2002-2003 saw Everton finish in 7th spot. In the following season they finished 17th with a six point gap from 18th and then the following year (2004-2005) they made the top 4 so things can change quickly.

There's no doubt that Everton have been the biggest underachievers this season so the pressure will be on Martinez next season assuming he stays beyond this season which I think he will due to good performances in the Europa League.

Based on performances, they have a really good chance of winning the Europa League as well. Only Inter and possibly Florentina have performed better than them.

Would be a good boost going into next season.

There is distinctive video footage of both of them spitting, they don't have a leg to stand on. Evans least of all as he was the instigator. Obviously it doesn't exonerate Cissé in any way, and he should get banned too, but it is a downright scummy thing to do and the least Evans could do is own up to his own depravity.

Meanwhile Cisse has owned up and apologised which contradicts Evans own take on events.

"I have apologies to make to a lot of people today," said Cisse. "I reacted to something I found very unpleasant."

"Sometimes it is hard not to react, particularly in the heat of the moment.

I have always tried hard to be positive a role model, especially for our young fans, and yesterday I let you down.

"I hope children out there playing football for their clubs and schools this weekend will know better than to retaliate when they are angry.

"Perhaps when they see the problem it now causes me and my team they will be able to learn from my mistake, not copy it."
