Barcelona are set to make a mega bid in the summer for Paul Pogba according to Spanish press, Help me out here haven't they got a transfer ban? Here's Chelsea and City faffing around trying to come in line with FFP and those dodgy c**ts with an actual transfer ban are set to break their transfer record.

Completely agree, its a disgusting thing to do and needs a ling ban as a deterrent. I was never spat at on a pitch but a team mate was, and he knoecked the little sh*t on his arse for it. It was honestly one of the angriest I and many others have ever been on a pitch, more than any bad or late tackle.

I understand that it can get you really angry. Friends of mine of also been spat at and brawls have resulted. I guess the anger stems from some idea that your dignity is being soiled. However, that is not the case. That person is just a cowardly idiot (rather than malicious), similar to someone who hurls insults throughout the game. Or something like that.

Nowadays being spat at carries real health risks which is why police and detention officers often use anti spit hoods on detainees.

They can buy players but can't register them.

No one is going to agree to sign for them and sit around doing f**k all for months, the best they can do is come to an vocal/formal agreement in the way they did with Neymar.

I've always said that there is something peculiar about the way Barca are run.

Saying that, they cannot sign anyone till Jan 16.

People are so soft skinned. Infections..your hands are 100 more dirty than the saliva of a healthy footballer. I know it is disgusting habit and it is punishable. 1-2 games should be enough.

Corruption, two-footed tackles, simulating/diving for me are 10 times more worse than spitting. I know there are cultures that consider spitting horrible but things should be in proportion. What does this teach to children? Don't spit but be welcome to try something worse?

Yep, I've defended spitting on a pitch to non sports types as necessary for players exerting their breathing. It's a social no no nowadays and, on the streets, has linked to a rise in TB.

Interesting again how the FA latches on to some things and not others.

Overboard nothing.

You want to act like a animal then you get the punishment you deserve.

I think it's by degrees. Full on, full scob with intent would need how many match bans if these two picked up 6...

Meanwhile I agree that some cases should dealt more harshly, tackles are not part of it.

A tackle is a footballing move, may it be premeditated to hurt someone or simply down to bad luck and timing.

Spitting is disgraceful and 6 games is the proper punishment for, it should not be tolerated and if they had given them a 2 match ban what kind of message would that send? At the same time I think Evans should've been punished extra for denying and appealing for it, which is just as shameful as spitting in the first place.

So I get your message about double standards, but I think looking just at the spitting incident, 6 games is the proper punishment!

Not for me but I think that is a cultural thing.

I know tackle is a football move but it can end a career, unfortunate or deliberate. It can be heat of the moment as was the spit but never seen a spit end a career.

Interesting how animals have such a poor reputation   Hate the phrase myself.

Since we are talking about the biggest sport on the planet.

Shouldn't there be a social and moral philospohy within the game? I see what you are trying to say, but if you punish a player for his competitiveness and willingness to win, what's going to be left of our game? Sometimes there are going to be hard tackles and bad tackles, but if we start punishing that with 6 match bans we're going to end up watching a game in which the players are scared to touch eacother in a battle for the ball hoping not to get banned for the next month.

Look at the modern day NBA for instance, the flagrant foul rules and everything that's come in the past 15 years has made the game friendly and soft. I was born in 1996 so I am aware I wasn't even born then but I do consider myself a rather intelligent lifefrom and have done my fair share of research. In the early 90's you would have Isiah Thomas' Pistons and young Michael Jordans' Bulls go against eachother and work eachother mentally and physically to a point to where Michael Jordan has openly admitted years later he hated Isiah Thomas, that's a strong word. Meanwhile nowadays you have Kevin Durant's Thunder battle LeBron James' Heat in the NBA Finals and have one side not give it his all because they're too good of friends.

Competitiveness shouldn't be punished, sometimes it can get out of hand i.e the recent Matic case. And he paid his dues for it. But we can't say that he's wrong for what he did, he defended his turf, and we need to keep that in the sport.

However spitting is not being competitive, that's demeaning and disgraceful globally, I don't know what culture you come from but in a sport that's as global and influential as football, this kind of behaviour should not be tolerated. And I'm aware I'm starting to sound like a broken record but Evans' disgraceful attempts to deny any part of the incident should be punished extra.

I agree that some things get punished to lightly but that doesn't mean 6 games for spitting is out of proportion in my opinion.
