May 23, 201511 yr He's got a point though. Last week was Gerrard's last ANFIELD match. This is his last Premier League match, possibly ever. I know Stoke will probably give him a guard of honour but what about the rest of the clubs? Obviously there's that rumour of us chanting Lampard's name in the 8th minute but there's also a campaign to get every club chanting Gerrard's name in the 8th minute, across all the leagues. That's a great tribute in my opinion. That's just moronic why should the clubs chant his name? I think that kind of thing should only happen when a footballer passes away. It fair enough for Liverpool favs to do it but other club shouldn't be doing it.

May 23, 201511 yr I wouldn't object if our fans changed Lampard's name in the 8th minute then immediately followed it with one last rendition of "Steve Gerrard, Gerrard...'. I'm going to miss hearing that song.

There's also the a rumour doing the rounds that the ball boys are going to wear Gerrard-tribute wigs. Not sure how that will go down but again, it's a great tribute to the man.
May 23, 201511 yr Desperately hope Hull stay up at the expense of Newcastle tomorrow.same here, mainly because I work with 2 Newcastle fans.

The thing is your first joke was genuinely believable because of the amount of Gerrard sh*te that's been happening in the last couple of weeks. I one of the few that said I didn't hate him at all in the Gerrard thread but the last fortnight has been unbearable. Edited May 23, 201511 yr by RichardCFC
May 23, 201511 yr Seems like the consensus amongst most fans is that it would be good to see Newcastle go down. You think about the way they're run, the way they treated Pardew and the fact that Hull are relatively inoffensive and it's not surprising. Not sure their fans deserve it because they're a passionate bunch on the whole and they dislike what the owner has done as much as anyone, but they got what they wanted with Pardew going so maybe it's a bit of 'better the devil you know'. The thing is your first joke was genuinely believable because of the amount of Gerrard sh*te that's been happening in the last couple of weeks. I one of the few that said I didn't hate him at all in the Gerrard thread but the last fortnight has been unbearable. It was genuinely believable if you're extremely gullible. Same goes for Carragher's tweet. At least you realised it was absurd.

It's been tough; most worrying is the thought of 'pundit' Gerrard once his MLS career ends...oh God...
May 23, 201511 yr It's been tough; most worrying is the thought of 'pundit' Gerrard once his MLS career ends...oh God... I'm hoping after that car wreck Thierry henry sky will realise just being a good player doesn't mean they will be a good pundit.

May 23, 201511 yr I'm hoping after that car wreck Thierry henry sky will realise just being a good player doesn't mean they will be a good pundit. I hope so too dkw but they love the guy...it's practically homo erotic...
May 23, 201511 yr I hope so too dkw but they love the guy...it's practically homo erotic... It does fit at least one of the Greek tragedy criteria; I look forward to seeing a vase depicting such.
May 23, 201511 yr You guys are so insensitive. A premier league titan is retiring, a regular colossus of our weekend's for the past two decades. I'm hoping to see a massive chorus of noise made for this legend, I'm thinking one chant for every league title Stevie has won. Should get that out of the way nice and early so we can focus on lifting another league title ;)
May 23, 201511 yr It was genuinely believable if you're extremely gullible. Same goes for Carragher's tweet. At least you realised it was absurd. After last weekend, i wouldn't be surprised by anything anymore. If they really were trying to get fans of other clubs to chant his name i wouldn't have been surprised by it. That isn't being gullible, it's just expected now after seeing the celebration of saint Stevie Me's career over the last few weeks.
May 23, 201511 yr I'm wearing my Stevie G Liverpool shirt to the game tomorrow. I've had a think and I reckon it's only right that I do. Edited May 23, 201511 yr by Crem

I've had a think and I reckon it's only right that I do. It'll go well with the Gerrard mask that the club have placed on each of the seats.
