So Wilshere's goal wins goal of the season, just like last season. Arsenal fans with their bias voting as usual. Arsenal and Liverpool fans always do this. Time to take the Twitter vote away, let the pundits choose the winner.

My vote would have gone to Zamora, that was a brilliant finish. Outside of the foot chip from an angle running at full speed with a defender trying to stop you, amazing skill. Schurrle's wasn't in it ( what a joke ) that would have won it or got 2nd place for me and Defoe's would have got 3rd.

Interesting how goal of the season is decided. How do you compare one 'hit and hope' shot with another? They all look spectacular when they go in. I agree with yourself that Zamora's goal had an added bit of skill and out of the goals last night on view would have been my choice.

Schurrle's goal though was the ultimate team goal, we probed and dragged Burnley from side to side,eventually the incision of the Hazard run opened the space for Cesc with the pinpoint accuracy for the perfectly timed run and finish by Andre. A goal on a par with other great team moves ... Carlos Alberto for Brazil , Cambiasso against Serbia, McDermott against Spurs all spring to mind. It should certainly been in the shortlist, though to fully appreciate it, the full move prior to the goal would have had to be shown on limited highlights. Or maybe it didn't fit the narrative being sown late season that we were boring champions to watch, forgetting our breathtaking start to the season.
