i'm well behind. i still have a ps3 and the only fifa i have is fifa 12, which i actually find a very good fifa. how much better are the following fifas compared to fifa 12? i need to get myself a ps4, but am reluctant to pay out 300+ quid on a gaming system, when i don't game much.

its not just a gaming system though, you can use it for internet browsing and a Blu-ray DVD player so I think you get a decent deal.

On Ultimate Team do you actually have to spend real money to buy new and better players? Because if so, I'm not doing that. The Ultimate Team edition is more expensive as it is.

no you don't Richard. you earn coins by playing matches etc. some people do buy coins off the EA website but you don't need to and frankly these people aren't any better at the game. I usually play kids who have the likes of Ronaldo, neymar and bale in their side but have clearly paid for them because I normally beat them.

You don't have to pay but it will take more time to get together a decent looking team than for those who buy coins from EA to get the best players.

I find it's just mainly for kids, you know the type...from kickoff play lobbed balls to their speed merchants and that's the gameplan.

I have really gone off FIFA online because of this.

PES 2015 is only £34 on Shopto. Very tempting.

Yup and you get the day 1 edition which will usually come on the 12th as Shopto always get you the game before launch.

For FUT, you have to invest time into it if you want to enjoy the full benefits of it

You can buy coins using real life money but that is just plain dumb

If you want to play "proper" Fifa matches, I'd recommend seasons or career (even though career can get a bit boring imo)

If you want to enjoy Fifa, play pro clubs with mates (warning pro club is only available on next gen)

Still some really strange things on FIFA such as refereeing decisions and your own players running in to each other and falling over, I thought that was all supposed to be fixed with the whole physics engine and stuff.

Some of the goalkeeping is unbelievable as well! I wish they'd fix the pace back to the way it was as well. Ferdinand would not catch Willian in a foot race.

Played a fair few online matches now and without exaggerating every other match is against Real Madrid and always wearing their black kit.

Got to the point where my pre saved tactic is to play counter attacking because Chelsea defenders are too slow for their attack.

Four straight seasons promotions though so I'm getting the knack of it again now.

Same thing used to happen to me until I started using Chelsea's third kit. I almost never play against Real anymore, unless the person picking them uses their home or away kit, which seems to be quite rare.

Yep, it's highly frustrating. Anyone can beat someone with Bale & Ronaldo in their team. I got consecutive promotions to division 4 but then got relegated back to 5 :(

Playing career and just won the quadruple. I've got it on professional so its a decent level. Gonna knock it up a level.

I almost bottled it on the last day. I need to beat Wigan to win the league and I was 2-0 down at HT. Came back to win it 3-2. Managed to get Neymar for £46m plus Willian.

Starting to get abit bored of Fifa, looking forward to playing some different games till Christmas.

Getting ridiculous now with playing against Real Madrid, I had four straight matches against them last night.

I wouldn't mind but people don't even play well with them it's just a succession of through balls and looped through balls hoping to use the pace of Bale and Ronaldo to run past defenders.

On average I think most people I play against using Real have a pass success rate of below 70% because they don't even bother with retaining possession.

I'm up into Division 5 now and as I suspected the people you play against become more and more irritating with their approach play.

Online has always been a joke with long ball/speed merchants.

It's why it appeals to so many though, if you are sh*t at FIFA then just go Madrid and pump long balls and you have a great chance of getting wins.

No talent required.

I played 3 times last night, all against Real Madrid, won all of them and saved myself from relegation and got promotion back to 4. Good times. I'm sure I'll go back down, again.

I know what you mean about playing online being repetive but each individual still does play slightly differently, where as once you know how the computer is beaten it becomes relitevely easy. It was on FIFA 13 anyway, so robotic.

If I couldn't play online I wouldn't get FIFA... And I'm not sh*t at it thank you very much!

Ricky said that he would never lose to you on FIFA, Gem. He was actually quite sexist about your gaming skills. I just thought it was right that you know that.

I usually use Chelsea and i'd say 7/10 games I play are against Real, if I play in our black kit its less, if I play in the home kit its virtually every game.

It gets boring but at least they're nearly always sh*te, I think the only few games i've lost in seasons so far (gained consecutive promotions to div 3, still going) have been against teams other than Real.

After a run of 5 straight wins I followed it up with three straight losses putting my promotion in division 5 at risk, I decided to play one last one before going to bed and found myself 2-0 down within 30 minutes both goals coming because the computer switched to the wrong defenders and leaving a big gaping hole in my defense for the opposition to waltz through.

I have my team set up to play counter attack so I'm pretty conservative in my approach, I managed to pull a goal back before half time... The game ticked on and I just could pass my way though getting crowded out at the last minute, unusually for me I switched from balanced to attacking in the 80th minute... Managed to win a corner and Matic towered high to bring me level in the 83rd.

I stuck with the aggressive play despite being open at the back with the pace of Bale and Ronaldo but worked it wide to Hazard on the left of the area in the 89th minute, got to the byline and crossed it in and there at the near post to nod in unmarked is Fabregas.

Instant rage quite from my opponent and I went to bed feeling a lot better about the previous three losses.

lol whenever anyone sets themselves to ultra defensive + counter attack, or plays 5 at the back, I just pass it between my defenders until they change it and start pressing higher up the pitch.

What;s Fifa 15 on the PS3 like? And do many people play the online? Fifa 14 only has about 300-350 people doing pro clubs nowadays.

Speaking of conservative, anyone ever tired playing a 442 or 4231 with every player on high defensive workrates and low attacking workrates, set to ultra defensive and counter attack?

Sounds sh*t but it's surprising how effective it is, doing it with a 442 is more interesting because you can end up with your fullback or centre backs charging up on the counter.
