Just a bit of fun. If you could bring back 3 ex-chelsea players in their prime, whom would be your pick? For me, it would be Essien, Gallas and Drogba. I am torn between a prime Essien or a prime lamps, but i think a CB, Drogs and Essien would be immense to add to this current side.

Good question, from the players I've watched it'd be Carvalho, Essien and Duff. Certainly not the most talented, best, etc. but would fit into our squad sublimely.

Considered Gallas for Carvalho as well as Robben instead of Duff, but felt that Duff's tendency to provide natural width and immense work-rate would suit us more. Obviously a shame to leave Cole, Lampard, Drogba, etc. out but I think we have those positions covered for the moment.

Saliva is gathering in my mouth thinking about these hypothetical teams. It is a shame that players have to age. The only reason i never considered beyond a decade is taking into consideration the type of football played in the EPL at this current time; it is a very physical game now more than ever, and adding more raw physicality to this current Chelsea side would make a hell of a team.

I am surprised people have chosen cole at LB, instead of sticking to our usual back four (apart from replacing cahill at cb). I can understand the decision for robben's inclusion though; we currently miss that directness on the right wing (or on the left depending how José wanted to utilise haz and robben).

Marcel would be excellent cover in defence and midfield. Basically an upgraded David Luiz.

 

Frank...he's Frank.

 

Arjen just to see how good he could've been here. Hard to imagine we actually sold a player who is now one of the best in the world, but it made sense at the time.

 

 

Just missing out was Eidur. Loved the fella.

Makelele Robben and Zola for me. Imagine Makelele alongside Matic would be unreal.
