Transfers Summer 2015

Hereally didn't, he was another one of the supposed next comings of Maradona and he never really made it. Riquelme was exactly the same.

He had his Maradona moment between 2002 and 2004. It's quite different from Ridquelme, he just couldn't push on to the next level. Aimar was at that level but through no fault of his own suffered injuries which hindered him.

Agree to disagree, I don't think he showed enough at all. He was linked with a load of moves, none of which materialised.

Ruquelme had a pretty good career tbf. Maybe didn't make as a impact in his 5 years in Europe, but he was fantastic for villareal, and he will go down one of boca's best players ever.

Not disputing that but he didn't live up to the hype that surrounded him, like a lot of players around that time

Also draxler has been injured on and off for the best part of a year now. I think it's a question of keeping fit, will be the major factor to him reaching his potential.

I wouldn't replace Oscar with draxler due to injury concerns, but his stock has fallen in the last 12 months, so if he were available for decent price I think he could be worth a punt considering we only down to the 4 attacking midfielders.

I don't think he was that far off to be honest, I certainly think he was a lot closer to living up to his hype than simao, or joaquin.

He did win 3 copa libertadores, and south American player of the year.

The only player I'd swap Oscar with is Koke, not even Pogba imo. Pogba would definitely help us in dominating midfield/possession in big games etc. But he won't solve the problems of breaking FTB teams.

Not better than Oscar at all.

This. Every time Draxler gets brought up, I cringe. He is overrated and way overvalued. Has all of the same problems as Oscar, but without the high workrate. They both have the potential to be very good, but Oscar is better right now, fits our system, isn't injury-prone like Draxler, and is already signed to a long-term deal.

Schalke is Draxler's level imo

Maybe closer than they were but I still don't think he was ever on course to reach those heights

Id love Schneiderlin here, Him and Matic together we wouldn't concede too many goals thats for sure.

Who needs Schneiderlin when we have ZOUUUUUMA

Where did I mention Oscar? I didn't. I was talking about players like Jacquin, Simao etc who were massively hyped yet never made anything of themselves.

Both were pretty good players although admittedly not superstars. Joaquin was an important part of an occasionally overachieving Betis side and a fairly strong Valencia side. Even now he's performing respectably at Fiorentina.

Simao was a star at Benfica.

Regressed so much that in his first full season as outright first choice playing in his preferred position we look set to win our first league title in 5 years.

Yeah what a dud, let's dismantle our title winning team for next lot of flavour of the month players.

Yes and he's so great that Jose himself has come out and said he needs to improve and has recently dropped him/subbed him. Can you truly tell me that you're happy with the season Oscar has had? Also, he was our AM last season and the exact same thing happened, very good start to the season and then tripe for the other 6 months.

Am I happy?

Yes. He's played a pivotal part in what's set to be a title winning season, our first in five years.

He's 23, the same age Lampard was when he signed for the club. A player that didn't look like a world beater until he was about 25.

I'm happy to be patient with a player that has been key to our best performances of the season, that may need the man management of the best coach in football to develop the consistency for a full season.

I see Oscar as one of the building blocks for future success and not someone to be discarded in search of the latest fashionable name.

Will Reus leave Dortmund now that Klopp is going?

One line of thought on Klopp leaving is that he's privy to which player/s he's already set to lose in the summer.

After seeing Grotze and Lewandowski go in the last two years maybe knowing he's set to lose Hummels and or Rues was the final straw.

If you're happy with that then that's fine, but all I know is since before Christmas we've been subjected to average to rubbish performances from him more often than and it was the same case last season. Will he become more consistent? Hopefully, but personally I don't think he'll become much better than he is now.
