Yeah I feel like we should be more excited for signing this guy. I'm disappointed that we sold Schurrle but I suppose we have upgraded the starting XI to the detriment of the bench which makes sense. 

He may take a few weeks to hit his stride.

That's how his name should be spelt if you can't do an umlaut (the two dots) above the U in his name. He himself spells it that way on Twitter.

Bold statement from Parker:

 

 

Schuerrle could have got into any side in the Premier League, he is that good. Letting him go was a big decision which could come back to bite Jose Mourinho. Losing his direct threat and eye for goal will be felt in the squad.

 

I'm a massive Schurrle fan but even I would dispute that he would struggle to get into the Arsenal, City or United starting XI every week. 

 

But then there's this bit:

 

 

Cuadrado plays like an old-fashioned winger. He is up and down the pitch, which is great if you are a full-back as you are going to have a lot of help because he does track back. But I just wonder how he is going to adapt to a team that has never really used wingers. Chelsea are very narrow.

 

Maybe the point of the transfer is that Cuadrado will offer us some natural width, rather than instinctively cutting inside like Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard and Willian do, he might just be the Plan B, someone to get past his man, to the byline and put crosses/passes into dangerous areas. 

 

I do to an extent get the argument Parker is trying to make... But it's an argument that makes no sense and the examples are terrible, to compare Cuadrado's transfer to those of Scott Parker to Chelsea or Jack Rodwell and Scott Sinclair is just ridiculous.
