February 17, 201511 yr Bridge can f**k off. He was Eidurs ex but that didnt stop wayne. Pot kettle black
February 17, 201511 yr If it was 1-1 or 1-0 he probably would have been livid, probably considered it the inevitable being 2-1 down in the 88th minute

February 17, 201511 yr Plus he ended up with a Saturday but does he ever say thank you??? He also retired at the age of just 33 having only made 12 appearances in his final season whilst playing for league 1 side Reading. Quite honestly I think the whole JT saga mentally broke him to an extent, he was almost on par with Ashley Cole performance wise when he was at Chelsea but his on field career just went into a nose dive after that.
February 17, 201511 yr I just love how the minute Terry is allegedly involved in some incident with another British Footballer, said footballer instantly becomes important to the England team (despite never even being in the discussion prior) and now Terry has to go for the good of the team. See Bridge or Anton Ferdinand. So Veronica P. denied the affair over a brown bag of cash and not because it just didn't happen? Must of been a huge bag of cash considering she had hired Max Clifford who was getting opening bid offers of a quarter million quid for her story.... at a time she was taking Bridge to court because he allegedly refused to pay even 1% of his salary in child support. Yet it's all pretty ironic as, someone else pointed out, Bridge meet Veronica when he was playing at CFC and she was dating his CFC teammate Eidur. Funny that never made the articles condemning JT for doing that to a teammate, despite not being on the same team LOL.
February 17, 201511 yr i'm really looking forward to getting back to the Champions League tonight and to pot with the British media and the FA - thank God UEFA or their Champions League officials have never shown a bias towards our opponents or treated us unfairly Come on Chelsea

February 18, 201511 yr http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/thinking-man/11418353/How-Chelsea-became-the-most-hated-team-in-England.html OK some of the points made here can apply to any club that is successful for a lengthy period of time - after all I still despise Liverpool and they haven't won the league in a generation / nor has or will Stevie Gerrard ever win it - I think this writer gets away with it because the piece is a little tongue in cheek and because he's an Everton fan he is more to be pitied than scorned.
February 21, 201511 yr Author What do you guys call the refereeing today in our match? Do you still think is not a campaign? And what about City getting a penalty in the 2nd minute??? Are the referees and the FA play fair? Edited February 21, 201511 yr by Chelsea forever1
February 21, 201511 yr I don't know about campaign. Let's be honest we've also had things go our way and today they went against us. I just wish we could create and take our chances so we don't have to moan about penalties. We are good enough to win just with goals from open play. Look at Barca in 2009 with 3 clear penalties not given but how many clear cut chances did Drogba have to win the game??? Put the chances away and penalties are irrelevant.

Are the referees and the FA play fair? Good point. I didn't see much in the Citeh PK award. Did the barcode blow on Dzeko? Also don't forget le arse pk award today. Welbeck wasn't even fouled in the box. True he did fall in the box, but the foul was outside the box. The sh*t in England against CFC is totally bullsh*t!!!

Penalties go sometimes your way and sometimes against you. We shouldn't rely on them and it shouldn't be an excuse. The standard of refereeing in PL is apalling. That's a well known fact and we have to cope with that. We can't expect them to do brillantly all of a sudden.
February 21, 201511 yr Why do people say rely on penalties like they are flukes and undeserved gifts instead of scoring opportunities the team earned and created through being fouled when creating a scoring chance in the opposition box? If we have a great scoring chance denied by a clear foul in the opposition box then yes, we should rely on a penalty just as we should rely on being given a goal when that ball hits the back of the opposition net.

If we have a great scoring chance denied by a clear foul in the opposition box then yes, we should rely on a penalty just as we should rely on being given a goal when that ball hits the back of the opposition net. I know what is even the f**king logic in some people. Ivanovic has a shot on goal, player sticks his arm out, denies a good chance for us because we don't know if the shot is going in or not, so penalty for cheating. Diego Costa running into the box and it's 2 v 2, great chance to get a goal, he gets pushed over, denied a great chance, cheating from Burnley player, it's a penalty. A penalty should make up for them going against the match rules, that's your punishment, you foul someone in the box it's a penalty that's pretty obvious. Burnley knew what they were doing both times and they got away with it, happens a lot of times however unfortunately we are on the end of it yet again and this time it has came back to really kick us up the arse.

Because they are flukes. There are many incidents that warrant a penalty, but that doesn't mean you get one. If we go by this thread there is actually a 20% chance for us to get a penalty when we should. So yes, you can be angry when we don't get it, but realistically you'd have to expect it rather not given than given. So not relying on penalty simply means deal with facts and get on. We can wish that the standard of refereeing was better, but we can't do much about it. We have to find a way of winning without expecting the referee to make the right call, because that won't happen.

It is, in fact, a law of the game. You shouldn't hang your hopes on one penalty claim against a team like Burnley I agree but we are talking major game deciding errors. Yes, you have to expect that even on their worst day a BPL quality official will get at least one out of four or five major decisions right in a game. Especially when all going against the same team.
February 21, 201511 yr Penalties aren't flukes come on. For the Ivan shot sure it could go anywhere but I think Costa would've scored if he wasn't stopped
February 21, 201511 yr I am not saying we wouldn't deserve the penalties. We should get them by the law. But the implementation of the law is somewhat faulty and has been all season. Our experience thus far is that we get somewhat 1 in 5 penalties (just look at the numbers in the thread penalties given/not given, and it's roughly 1 in 5). I am not saying we shouldn't blame the referee, but if we want a penalty we should produce something like 5 penalty-worthy incidents and expect one to be given. We as a fans can be angry with the referee and the oponnent etc., but JM shouldn't rely on that because if he does we won't get far.
February 21, 201511 yr Penalties aren't flukes come on. For the Ivan shot sure it could go anywhere but I think Costa would've scored if he wasn't stopped I agree, if you take away a clear goal scoring opportunity both fouling the player in the box and it is not called, then you as a ref have completely changed the outcome of the game. Would Costa have scored for 100% certain if he hadn't been fouled? No. Would Hazard have slotted the PK in the net for 100% certain if the penalty had been awarded? No. But there is a 100% certainty that by allowing the player to get away with committing a foul on Costa, Chelsea did not score a goal from that attack.

If there is 1 incident that is 100% deserving of a penalty being awarded, it was the no call on the handball from the shot by Ivanovic. The defenders was 5 yards away from Branislav, was turning his back towards the shot and his arm was fully extended. It was the least accidental ball to arm / hand contact that I have ever seen in my 23 years of watching and playing this sport. Yet it wasn't given because either the ref didn't see it or he believed it to be accidental.

Penalties are a result of foul play within the area and should be punished like anywhere on the pitch. The referees make it up as they go on, the FA allow them to, but are happy to hold everyone to the rule of law when they feel like it. If we didn't have trust in the system from top to bottom( and sometimes there are serious concerns) in any other walk of life there would a suspicion of corruption involved.
February 22, 201511 yr What an absolute joke eh! Matic could've had his career ended today, anybody would've reacted exactly the same! I don't believe in conspiracies & all that malarkey, however it is a piss take! We seem to be getting some terrible officials in our matches, all of 'em seem anti-Chelsea. We are the new Man United, ain't no doubts about it! Oh well, f*ck 'em!
February 22, 201511 yr I thought the ref was very hasty brandishing the red. We saw the media's absurd overreaction to Ivanovic getting involved in some argy bargy, and the ref was suitably influenced, as we saw today. The merest hint of argy bargy and out came the red. It was never a red card for me. The media are trolling us and doing a very good job of it too. Shame refs are so impressionable.
February 22, 201511 yr I'm going to abuse these stats because I find it so amusing. I apologize. Games Per Penalty Awarded Club - BPL - CL CFC - 13 - 1.5 MCFC- 3.7 - 3 Arse - 3.7 - 6 LFC - 6.5 - 6 To add some context, Chelsea leads the league in goals and tops the table by 5 points. Chelsea also have a player who has the combined most dribbles and fouls-against in the the league. They aren't pulling aren't pulling a Dortmund and lighting up the CL while stinking up the league. That's one hell of a coincidence.
