Luis was dreadful by the way, was all over the place and got dragged inside far too often.

I loved Luis today. Was a good example of a proper attacking LB who also was calm with the ball and was also at the end of some Hull crosses.

Phew. This is too much lately, it's like cup finals every single game.

 

Not a great performance but we were a lot better going forward than we have been of late. The 1st half we seemed to be just going for it without actually doing any defending, in the 2nd half there was more control and we got a deserved win in my opinion. We held onto the ball better and controlled the tempo of the game, all that was needed was the finish and we got it through Remy.

 

Ivanovic in the first half was awful, that was one of his worst defensive displays i think. It is worrying that every single team can see that Ivanovic is our weak link in defense and Mourinho can't. It's every game now that we keep getting caught out on our right hand side. Cahill has taken a lot of criticism this season, but he is mainly getting caught out when he is having no protection from Ivanovic. We looked so much better defensively in the 2nd half because Ivanovic had his head screwed on. If he is going to keep playing at RB then i would actually prefer Ivanovic to sit back more like he was in the 2nd half, we looked like a more organised team when he isn't attacking so much.

 

I'm happy that Willian got an assist today but for pretty much the whole game he was poor. He's weak, he is losing the ball a lot and doesn't take players on. Same with Ramires. I don't think we can go into next season with these 2 being 2 of our first 11, they're not good enough.

No, Blowing a 2-0 lead was a disgrace, the critiscm was well founded. We played pretty god damn sh*t today from what I saw as we have for a few weeks now. People are rightly concerned and have a right to think we were gonna blow it.

Add to this would be really nice to see the arguments stop on here, posts like yours cause it.

Did anyone throw the towel in? I think a lot were justifiably upset at what was a very poor first half performance. Maybe you were happy with it? I'm sure Jose won't have been.

 

 

Today we got lucky, had a bit 'rub of the green' when it mattered something we haven't had in recent weeks. Massive three points that will lift the side as they go into the international break. Two very winnable games now that can put us completely back on track.

Well we did it in typical Chelsea style these days. Had it easy and made it hard. Happy we got the 3 points because we really didn't deserve 3 out there today. Let's just hope we can continue to pull of these wins while playing pretty poorly. I have faith that we will get it right in the end.

Well my thoughts on today's game...

First 10 minutes were terrific going forward but the danger at the back was clear for all to see.

Ivanovic is a very poor right back, defensively he gets caught it pretty much every week multiple times and it puts the CB beside him under extreme pressure.

Cahill struggles whenever he's asked to play against forwards with pace and it really shows, he doesn't have the positional awareness of JT to make up for it.

Willian yet again shows that he is a very very poor attacking player, I inow he got the assist and he done well, but how often does that happen? Surely Cuadrado with a run in the team would provide more.

Remy yet again displays that he has a goal scorers touch, he's fantastic in the box, I'd love to see him get more game time, perhaps even alongside Costa!

Tibo made a mistake for the 2nd but throughout the game he was still a huge presence in goal and the triple save was terrific.

The rest of the 1st half was poor, the second half we controlled but didn't look very dangerous.

I don't take back anything I posted in the thread, we can improve massively, second half of the season we have been very poor and I do worry if we don't improve I do worry we will get punished. If we play like that first half, United & Licerpool will punish us.

Now this is the one I'll get abuse for, Jose needs to stop being so stubborn, we laugh at pellegrini for it but Jose is no different. Same team, same tactics every time.

Ivan, Cahill, Willian all out for the next game, Azpi, Zouma, Cuadrado in.

Agreed, it's tense this close to the end of the season, fans aren't robots that can switch emotions off.

I'll stick with dreadful, I Think he's getting of a bit lightly because ivanovic was worse. I lost count the amount t if times the right winger had all the space in the world to wander in as Luis tracked a player the centre back obviously had. He went forward well, was dreadful at the back.

Phew, glad we won it! Thank goodness for that kid Remy. I hope Jose keeps him around. Now we only need 6 wins and a draw, and Liverpool will be giving us the guard of honour. That will be the sweetest sight to see.
