Sell Diego now for a lower price as a "sweetener" to pave way for a deal with Griezmann next summer.

We're never getting Griezmann. I don't think we're even interested in him. Best to forget about that fantasy now rather than getting yourself disappointed unnecessarily.

I'm not even sure if we'd be able to shoehorn him into our formation. Just forget about it.

I don't have fantasies about football players. :happy001:

Seriously, though... I don't think it's all that far fetched. It might not look like the most probable deal, but it wouldn't be the first time that a surprising football transfer has happened. It's silly season, so I don't see why people can't speculate on different scenarios.

I'm sure Conte could find a way. I mean, who would've thought that there was a place for Moses in our starting eleven? I'm not saying Griezmann should be played as a wing back, mind you, but I don't think it would be such a lost cause as you seem to think.

I don't think Chelsea are actually interested in signing Griezmann, tbqh. There has hardly been any whiff of it in the media.

d**khead I don't want to talk to you but to shut you up, you pestering little tear, before the Diego announcement about the text I said give him the benefit of the doubt China never confirmed by him, he has done well for us, rather than you calling him a c**t, what was I wrong about. Actually don't answer just f**k off.

Your posts are a lot worse than his. I just wanted to say this because you are acting as though you are some authority protecting the forum from idiots.

Your posts constantly lower the tone around here. You post a lot of insults and posts that are aggressive in tone.

Don't get me wrong, you often make valid points when it comes to the game but if i'm honest I don't pay them the attention the football content within them probably deserves because of the other garbage that sometimes comes from you.

Sometimes clubs are able to keep it from the media. Not often, but it happens. If my totally made up scenario somehow turned out to be true, then I don't see a reason why the deal would necessarily leak into the press right now. I mean, if were a pre-contract type of deal negotations tied in with the sale of Costa, then I don't see why they would necessarily need to go public about it just now. Griezmann has said that he can't leave now because the club couldn't buy a replacement due to the transfer ban, so he's going to play at Atletico for the next season, but I think he will leave next summer. IF Conte wanted Griezmann (none of us know for sure either way) then I think the club should at least bring it up while negotiating the Costa transfer.

Criticism noted, maybe my tone isn't the best, maybe I come across that way when not intending to and also maybe sometimes intend to but because I'm not a c**t and you said it like a gentleman I have no problem with what you said and in fact welcome it, a mans character is a thing that always evolves and I'm thankful if a flaw is pointed out, sometimes you need a view that's not your own, so my apologies to anyone that has had to read unpleasantness through perhaps friendly fire, I don't think I've argued with many people but the ones I have argued with have been very arrogant and arrogance sets me off. I might be a bit rough round the edges but I believe I'm always polite until someone is impolite to me or at least I certainly make a conscientious effort to be. It's not always what's said but the ways it's said, you just basically told me off but because you didn't do it in a smart arse way, or snidely and said something that I probably know myself that I get carried away sometimes, you get back a thanks rather than an insult.

Glad you took it in the way it was intended. If you posted utter tripe as far as football goes I wouldn't have bothered, but you don't.

That's more like it folks. We're all Chelsea after all (other than the occasional WUM). It's only natural that there will be disagreements and sometimes these can get heated - that's all healthy and can add to the fun. As long as we remain composed and adult,  so lets ALL try and avoid the playground stuff and nasty insults - it becomes tiresome and there's just no need for it.

In the end that's what I'm here for I love to chat about football and my team the rest of it is bollox and it does detract from the real purpose and the enjoyment, Please don't think I feel great when bickering, I don't, because it's not fair on others, and there are some top people on this forum.

In any case hearing it from someone else in a proper way was a good thing and I haven't spoken to you much on here but I have a new found respect for your approach.

Intervention successful

That's not racism, it's xenophobia you are thinking of. And he never once wrote anything like that.

Thanks Dicky.

Anyway, it's not racism, it's not even xenophobia, it's the simple fact that if all of your football knowledge comes from what Sky chooses to show you, and what you read on internet site, you will not have, and cannot have, an ingrained feeling for the game that comes from playing from primary school onwards, attending matches in locations from the local park to Stamford Bridge, and, crucially, watching the parts of the game from the stands that the cameras aren't necessarily covering.

Now, none of that means necessarily that any such person is worse or better than any other.  In this person's case, on many threads he has managed to get into an argument with a large number of different posters about a large number of different subjects by posting sometimes strange and contrary opinions, and then descending into accusations of racism when people call out his somewhat basic knowledge.  It wasn't just me, it's been lots of us.  It just happened to be me this time.

So, my objection was to his objectionableness ( @moi, is that a word?), not his colour, nationality, sexuality, creed or gingerness.  (Well, maybe gingerness a bit).  I'd have said the same to anyone from anywhere who continually spouted such bile-ridden nonsense.

So, I've got the bugger on ignore, so I won't have to interact with him again.  That way he'll never find out about my BNP membership.  (I haven't really got one!)

spotted a spelling mistake and missing comma (AGAIN!)

Well Conte gets his share of the blame if we lose Diego and don't get a decent replacement. Obviously not all on him but it did not help the situation and Diego sure knew how to exploit that opportunity. Wonder if we may regret letting Tammy go out on loan....

You're so sweet Val, you're part of the reason I always come back. At least someone laughs with me rather than AT me. :blush2:

If that fee is true then it says to me we want rid of him and don't care about the price.

it also signals to any potential selling club that we are now desperate for a striker.

The club should have prevented this from leaking or at least make a smokescreen or something

Could have been Costa's camp who leaked it deliberately. And since it's coming from Matt Law, it could even have come from the club directly.

True, either way this information should not be leaked considering the fact that we have 1 striker atm and that we're supposedly in negotiations with clubs who are fleecing us. Such a bad move all around. We should keep our cards hidden until everything is certain

Objectionableness? If YOU need there to be such a word, then of course there is such a word. Or you could substitute c**ticity or f**kwitability?

Why don't people understand how important this is so much about football is instinct and something that like you said comes from growing up round it, that's called football culture and I don't think it's racist at all to say someone in this case from India will not have that same understanding/affiliation or football culture, that's not at all racist it's a reality that translates to most things, it's like a white kid from Hertfordshire talking like a rude boy from Peckham, people are going to say wait a minute...this now exists because of the internet, there is no authenticity anymore, there are some things you can't become by reading about them online. This is of course not to say you can't have great international fans that know a lot about the game and loads of countries have a football culture just not some of the countries like India and when you get a smart arse from one of those places sorry to say giving it the Charlie big spuds, and being arrogant you have to say why not listen to someone, and I'm not saying me,  who is the real article and you'll maybe enjoy the insight.

So that's how to bring you out of hiding, ask about grammatical corectness, noted, hope you are well madam.
