he's far from as good as he once was and has been a bench warmer for barcelona even before suarez came. i suppose for 7m he would be a decent squad member, but i doubt barcelona will sell for that little, if at all.

i really don't understand the price tag, watched a lot of barca games this season and everytime he got the call he's been brilliant he's a 20mil player imo

for 7mil that's a damn good bargain, i don't see why we should pass on this

Not Chelsea standard.

Has made 45 or more appearances 09/10 season.

I don't particularly want him but let's not go pretended that a player making that many appearances for the greatest club side of the last decade isn't good enough to play for Chelsea.

John O'Shea ladies and gentlemen.

Good squad player, but we need class in the first team.

He was outstanding in the CL when they beat United at Wembley.

He's clearly a talented player and is better than any right sided player we have.

He's clearly a good footballer otherwise he wouldn't have played as many games as he has for the best club side in Europe.

yes he may have won multiple la liga's, champions leagues and a world cup, but has he ever won a midweek game at the Brittania?

O'Shea was making 40 or more appearances a season from 02 to 09, belittle him all you want but he was clearly a key player to United's success during that period.

Not the star of the team but very capable of doing his job none the less, much like Ferreria did for us.

I've always liked him, but my major worry would be how would he perform away from the only situation he has known, he will be massively stepping outside his comfort zone.

Exactly. He was a utility player for them capable of doing a job but only in that system. I don't if Pedro is that same type of player but we need class to improve the first team, not depth players.

I don't know if he elevates us to the level we need to get to.

But that was my original point, okay Pedro isn't a star player and I agree I don't think he necessarily elevates the quality of our side but to say "not Chelsea standard" is quite simply wrong. You don't survive at a club like Barca, making that many appearances if you're not a competent player.

I sort of agree. He's good enough to be a role player here, but not starter material in the big matches. I think that's maybe what was meant by the Chelsea material comment.

Let's keep in mind this guy started in a World Cup Final.

Although, for just 30 million pounds more, we can have a player whose biggest game in his career to date was spent watching Slippy G give the ball to Demba Ba.

Didn't seem to really faze Sanchez

True he started the Final. He was taken off in the second half and replaced by Jesus Navas, another player I don't think would improve us.

If we had a top class right winger then I'd be in favour of signing this guy to give us depth. But we need that top, top player (or someone with potential to be that) and I'm not convinced Pedro is that.

Sanchez had played in several other clubs in different countries.

I agree, in part, with blue Daze. Pedro is not the automatic starter that would improve our right side.

However for 7mill the risk would be low If he faded in to the background.
