Petr Cech to Arsenal

Featured Replies

According to Sky Bet, odds on Cech to Arsenal have dropped from 4/9 to 4/6, gulp! I think unfortunately it's gonna happen. With strong rumours that they've got Higauin aswell I think they'll be a strong force next season.

4/6 means its less likely to happen than 4/9

Do not understand why players with an emotional connection, or supposed emotional connection, to our club want to go to a bitter rival.

Would be like if Drogba had gone to Liverpool, or Spurs, after leaving us the first time. But he did not, he went abroad.

If Cech insists on going to Arsenal, when he has already won everything he can at an English side, then for me it shows he does not feel a strong connection to our club, and certainly not to the fans.

End of the day is his life and his career to do with as he sees best fit. I can accept that, but will not respect it if he joins Arsenal.

has long arsenal doesnt buy a world class center back and defensive mid fielder i dont think cech can save arsenal by himself

He will probably organise their defence better though and think Koscielny's a decent CB and alongside him maybe that Gabriel will be good. Could be a different animal next season.

That's just it though, we like to think players care about the club as much as we do but unfortunately most of the time they won't - it's a career for them.

I'm telling myself that it's the Mail and isn't reliable and anyway it's not certain and so many transfers that look likely fall through. In other words I'm sticking my fingers in my ears and my head in the sand (pretty difficult together) and pretending nothing is happening.

You been an Ostrich?

Although I think it's looking ever more likely he will move to the Gooners we have to remember he won't be meeting with Chelsea until Monday. I would hope he respects us enough to not start negotiating a move without talking to us first.

Doesnt he only have a year left on his contract. That is probably why the price is so cheap

Regardless it's a direct rival so the price should be more, when Arsenal sold Van Persie to Man Utd the price was £24 mil and he only had one year left. Now ranted he was the prior season's top scorer but it was said that the price wouldn't have been as high for a purchase from abroad.

Good luck to him. He wont make a difference to the rest of the team bottling it and Wengers incompetence.

Thing is though, say they add Cech. He will organise their defence better than it is now, plus there's no telling what that player Gabriel will be like next season. Also if they sign Schneiderlin and Higauin I think they will be a real threat.

True. But I still feel Mourinho and our squad are miles ahead of the competition in every aspect.

As disappointed as I'll be if he goes to Arsenal, I suppose you have to look at the human side of it rather than the sports profesional side of it, if he wants his family to stay in London.

We shall see of course I hope you're right

Me too. For the first time in a years I feel confident in this Chelsea to string some consistency together.
