Radamel "the project" Falcao

Featured Replies

I hope he does leave in January, Loan should be terminated and a spade called a spade. Not up to it.

I agree with you but I think he'll stay unless he requests to leave. We usually have 3 senior strikers in the squad so unless he requests or we're looking to bring someone in, we've got him till summer. Sadly

I actually dont think hes that bad, but we just play hopeless long balls all the time, which is not really to his strength

Should never have signed him. Bamford or Solanke would more likely contribute something to the team.

The man has clearly lost "it" after he was rushed from his injuries. He is still a decent player but not someone you can rely upon when we need options.

Rumour via the Independent is that Fiorentina are interested in signing him if we terminate his loan. I think it would be best for all of he went.

Hope if we do get rid that we'll make a move for Charlie Austin in Jan personally.

Can't make excuses for him he looks shot. Many did the same for Torres and the reality was he also wasn't good enough anymore. Saying that he looked better than Falcao though.

Hopefully this is the last busted striker we bring in.

What a waste of a wage so far

My guess is that being the experts on wasting good money on bad strikers there will be more to follow......

Off top of my head since I've been a Chelsea fan

Chris Sutton

Shevchenko

Pizarro

Torres

Falcao

Then there's players like Carlton Cole, Adrian Mutu and Forsell whilst potentially good players turned out to be either not good enough, on drugs or really injury prone.

Have I missed anyone?

Kezman springs to mind, although he didn't arrive on a big fee like the others.

Hmm, I would put Kezman in the list too. Wasn't an expensive buy but I recall the hype around him back then. He was doing amazingly well in the Dutch league before he arrived.

Oh god yeah knew I was missing someone

I was even just thinking waste of a wage not just a fee lol I think Pizarro was on a free but he barely did anything of note here.

Bit off topic but I'd like to know the turnover of players in the past few years since we won the CL and see who is at the top of that list in the EPL.

We must be close

Torres

Kalou

Malouda

Drogba

Lampard

Cole

Luiz

Mata

KDB

Lukaku

Schurrle

Cuadrado

Salah

Cech

Meireles

Paulo

Schwartzer

Romeu

Moses

Marin

Then you have the loans and I've lost count of who we still have out on loan and who is away for good...Marin might still be here...I'm not sure.

Spuds I can imagine might be higher but not really looked into it in any real depth.

I saw Franco Di Santo bossing it for Schlake yesterday & I was thinking that he has a better chance of finding the back of the net than this version of Falcao.

You could make a pretty nice team of players we have let go who have gone onto to be reasonably good at other decent clubs (not commenting on the politics of why we sold them).  Just a thought.

                      Cech

Bertrand - DLuiz - CB  - FelipeLuis

                   Meireles

           KDB - Mata - Salah

               Sturridge

                       Falcao (to join them soon)

Could argue that this team needs an actual RB and I can't quite name a central defender we have let go recently.. but I think they'd qualify for Europe.

Is Falcao a bigger fall from grace than Torres?

Forgot about Bertrand and Sturridge!

For us the fall isn't as great because we didn't splash out 50 million on Falcao plus as poor as Torres was he did contribute to a domestic trophy and the CL and EL wins which soften a little bit of the blow.

Both were around the same age when their troubles began with them both being one of the worlds best strikers during this time.

The blessing is we can shove Falcao out the door come the summer but we had to hold onto Torres for a few years.

I would put lukaku ahead of falcao. There's Rajkovic (he never got a work permit), can play at CB also Jeffery Bruma to play in the CB/RB positions.

I dont think Falcao or Remy are good enough for our first team. They lack no presence, but the way Falcao is talked about in this thread is embarrassing. Hes had barely any minutes and he's a loan signing and as team weve played extemely poor all season. This is nothing like the Torres transfer.

We took a chance, hes a 2nd/3rd choice striker. Diego was always number 1, Remy hasent stepped up either. Why havent you been bashing him? He doesnt come with a reputation.

Because Remy actually has been good for us in the past. Falcao has been a bad footballer for about 2 years now.

I honestly think Falcao is not good enough for us, the same with Remy. A waste of space? No chance, neither have been given a chance of a good chunk of playing time and the team has been playing pretty bad all season.

There is no patience anymore and Falcao is a scapegoat for frustrations.

Chelsea 39 players in 47 players out not including loans

Man city 27 players in 51 players out

Spurs 28 players in 67 players out frankly ridiculous

Man U 25 players in 56 players out

I didn't include Arsenal as I didn't think they would be close but in one season 24 people did leave.

Although this includes the releasing of youngster and the like for free so maybe transfer revenue would be a more apt statistic.

Complete utter waste of money ... Virtually all on this forum could have told Jose that.

However, Jose had a personal point to prove to LVG that he could do better. Piss poor judgement.

When Jose said he asked JT and Cahill for opinions before we approached him, I just knew it wouldn't work out. Playing against a player for 180mins (not sure he played that much against us in both games) doesn't really tell the whole story.
